Guys I think I figured out what Trey Gowdy's purpose is.

Firing Rod Rosenstein is a red line. Q wouldn't tell us that if they intended to cross it.

Just with how Trump forced his hand with the letter recommending the firing of Comey, he will do the same to appoint another special prosecutor Trey Gowdy.

I think this is what all the delay and talk of redaction is. Anyone who didn't commit serious crimes will have a chance of redeeming themselves, and in return their names will be redacted from the memo. I don't think Muller will be fired unless it comes out in the memo that he ordered the texts to be deleted or any other signs of bias. Trey Gowdy was on a news show recently saying that bias is something a judge will take very seriously though, so that is a possibility. I think it's important to remember that mockingbird is still working to some degree and Trump has to be very careful, that's why he has waited so long to release the memo and why he hasn't fired anyone since Comey.
