We merged two videos- from (1) the officer’s phone & (2) that showing the driver’s side. You can clearly hear the officer exclaim “WOAH” as he gets hit, right BEFORE he fires. He is in distress & obviously surprised she’s accelerating. The wife instigates it, commanding, “Drive”

As of January 9, 2026 (and into January 10 based on the latest reports), yes, U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent is still in the Minneapolis area(Twin Cities region of Minnesota).

He has been on an official visit to Minnesota this week, primarily to address and announce initiatives combating widespread government benefits fraud (particularly related to welfare programs in the state). Key activities include:

Delivering remarks at the Economic Club of Minnesota event in Golden Valley, Minn. (near Minneapolis) on Thursday, January 8/9.

Holding meetings with financial institutions, fraud victims, state leaders, and community members in the Minneapolis-St. Paul area.

Announcing actions like a Geographic Targeting Order from FinCEN requiring extra reporting on international transfers from banks/money transmitters in Hennepin and Ramsey Counties (which include Minneapolis and St. Paul).

Speaking to the media and participating in interviews (e.g., with local radio) about the fraud investigation, with reports explicitly stating he was "in Minneapolis" as recently as Friday, January 9.

Multiple news sources (including MPR News, Reuters, AP, and Treasury Department releases) confirm his ongoing presence in the state for this purpose, with no indications yet of departure as of the most recent coverage on January 9. His visit coincides with broader Trump administration scrutiny of issues in Minnesota.

This appears to be a multi-day trip focused on fraud crackdown and economic messaging, so he remains there at the current time. For real-time updates, checking official Treasury schedules or recent news would be best, as travel can change quickly.
