US launches 'large scale strikes' against ISIS in Syria

The U.S. military conducted airstrikes against Islamic State (ISIS) in Syria, according to U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) forces.

CENTCOM said they, as well as partner forces, conducted "large-scale strikes" against multiple ISIS targets across Syria on Saturday as part of Operation Hawkeye Strike.

The attack comes just weeks after two Iowa National Guard members and a U.S. civilian interpreter were shot and killed in an ambush in Syria by a gunman affiliated with ISIS.
