If they are asking for your ID, is that not typically a scenerio where they are investigating a crime?

This needs to be explored. There was someone at a post office here locally recording people’s cars and license plates from a public sidewalk wearing a ski mask.
Legal - yep.
Suspicious behavior - yep
Should be investigated and IDed - yep
I don’t like it.
I don’t like cop overreach either but where the line is needs to be explored. You’re required to carry ID - and you comply with that why would you not show it?
