Anon does not mind paying contractors, that said anons irrigation pump failed, humming noise, pump side problem. Called # on sticker of rainbird system. Quoted almost $1500 for an inferior shit brand pump. Found exact Goulds 220v GT10 1hp for $510 + $30 for fittings and glue.

So they wanted $1000 for less than 2 hrs labor?

WTF Ridiculous

I would have paid 2 - 300 for labor, thats more than fair. No one offers much of a warranty anymore. The pump itself has one.

2 fucking wires and a ground. Already in place, exact swap out. 2 hacksaw cuts on pvc pipe to remove. I added unions that should have already been done when originally installed.

Yes $1000 labor is ridiculous. Lawyers are cheaper. And at least you know they are thieves in advance.
