There used to be this show on Discovery about prospecting in Greenland that was on TV about a decade ago or so. Because of the ice sheet melting, it was exposing new ground and stuff with gems just right there on the ground for people to gather, I remember an episode where they found rubies and shit. Pretty sure it was a gold mining show called Ice Cold Gold or something, might have been Frozen Gold, just did a search and both those turned up but I can't remember which one it was.
