GOP Rep. Neal Dunn Announces Retirement After Five Terms — Triggering Critical March 10 Special Election

by Jim Hᴏft Jan. 14, 2026

Republican Congressman Neal Dunn (R-Fla.) has announced he will retire after five terms in the U.S. House of Representatives, opting not to seek re-election in 2026.

The Panama City physician-serving lawmaker said he wants to spend more time with his family, but his departure comes at a perilous moment for the GOP as Republicans cling to a razor-thin House majority.

Dunn’s decision to step away from the House after a decade of service leaves Florida’s 2nd Congressional District wide open and adds to a growing list of incumbents abandoning their posts ahead of one of the most consequential midterm cycles in recent memory.

Dunn announced on X:

“After much prayerful consideration and discussion with my family, I have decided not to seek re-election to the United States House of Representatives. This will conclude my service after five meaningful terms representing the people of Florida’s Second Congressional District.

As a physician, an Army surgeon, and veteran from a multi-generational military family, I brought my commitment to life, liberty, and conservative values to Washington. It has been my greatest honor to fight for lower taxes, our military and veterans, the unborn, healthcare innovation, and policies that empower Americans over bureaucracy and addressing threats from Communist China, Russia and others.

The time has come to pass the torch to new conservative leaders, return home to Panama City, and spend more precious time with my family and our beloved grandchildren.

I am deeply grateful for your trust, support, and prayers over these years.

America remains the greatest nation on Earth, and with God’s blessing, our best days are ahead.

Thank you, and God bless you all.”

Because Dunn is stepping down ahead of the end of his term, state election officials are now scheduled to hold a special election on March 10.

While Dunn’s North Florida district has historically leaned red, he carried it by double-digit margins in 2024, the upcoming special election still carries outsized significance.

Recent GOP retirements and departures, including the resignation of Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene and the death of Rep. Doug LaMalfa, have helped shrink the Republican majority, raising fears of a Democratic pickup if Republicans fail to hold this and other contests.

Georgia’s 14th District, another previously reliable GOP seat, will also hold its special election on March 10 to replace the departed Marjorie Taylor Greene.

Globalist World Health Organization Says Boozy Europe Is Making Alcohol Cheaper, and Putting Lives at Risk – So, Their Solution Is: TAXES!

by Paul Serran Jan. 14, 2026

The old – and drunk – continent.

Europe has a drinking habit – or is it a problem?

Those of us well informed by the independent media are not inclined to listen to the World Health Organization’s advice any longer – if we ever did.

The WHO campaigners are out in force saying Europe’s hard drinking habits ‘are putting lives at risk’.

The crux of the UN agency’ ‘warning’ is that, instead of ‘making alcohol harder to afford’, what many European governments are doing is allowing a lowering of the prices.

Politico reported:

“Beer has become more affordable in 11 EU countries since 2022, and less affordable in six, the WHO report revealed Tuesday. There was a similar but even more dramatic trend for spirits, which became more affordable in 17 EU countries and less affordable in two. And for wine, 14 EU countries do not tax it at all, including big producers Italy and Spain, the report found.”

Oh, no – beer is cheaper! It must be the end of the world.

So, the detestable Tedros Ghebreyesus has the nerve to share his ‘brilliant idea’: TAXES.

Whatever our views on tobacco, alcohol and sugary drinks, taxation is never the solution, and health policy must be instituted at national level, with each country freely exercizing its sovereignty.

After discussing the health hazards of alcohol consumption, the WHO solution is a ‘masterpiece’ in Globalist thinking.

“The WHO said governments should target alcohol consumption to protect people from its ill effects. Increasing the cost of booze through taxes is one of the most effective measures governments can take, the WHO said. Yet, some EU countries have minimal or no taxes on certain types of alcohol.”
