Kansas School Bans Students From Naming Kirk, Trump Or Jesus As Role Models

Yet another example of why American parents are increasingly pulling their kids out of public institutions and turning to home schooling. Parents at an elementary school in Kansas are upset after students were reportedly told that they were not allowed to list President Donald Trump, late conservative activist Charlie Kirk and even Jesus Christ as their role models for an assignment.

The incident at Marshall Elementary School in Eureka, Kansas occurred in October and only recently came to light because students were originally instructed not to tell their parents about what happened. The American Center for Law & Justice, described as “a politically conservative, Christian-based legal organization,” has filed a formal civil rights complaint with the school.

The complaint accuses the district and Marshall Elementary School of religious discrimination, political or viewpoint discrimination, violation of free speech rights and retaliation. Students say a school guidance counselor, Kacey Countryman, gave sixth-graders an assignment called “Find Your Voice” as part of their "Leader In Me" program. They were asked to identify their role models, but conservative role models were apparently not allowed.

“When a student identified Charlie Kirk as a role model, the guidance counselor got very uncomfortable and refused to allow this name to be written on the board, yelling that he was ‘not a hero,’ and that he was not a role model,” the complaint says. When a student chose Trump as their role model, the guidance counselor reportedly had the same response.

Another parent says their child picked Jesus and was also denied.

Here Lies the Liberal World Order: 1945-2025

Back in 1989, renowned political scientist Francis Fukuyama got a little bit over his skis, as they say, when he enthusiastically welcomed in a new (and emphatically final) geopolitical epoch, audaciously dubbed the “End of History.”

From “The End of History?,” 1989:

“The twentieth century saw the developed world descend into a paroxysm of ideological violence, as liberalism contended first with the remnants of absolutism, then bolshevism and fascism, and finally an updated Marxism that threatened to lead to the ultimate apocalypse of nuclear war. But the century that began full of self-confidence in the ultimate triumph of Western liberal democracy seems at its close to be returning full circle to where it started: not to an “end of ideology” or a convergence between capitalism and socialism, as earlier predicted, but to an unabashed victory of economic and political liberalism.

The triumph of the West, of the Western idea, is evident first of all in the total exhaustion of viable systematic alternatives to Western liberalism. In the past decade, there have been unmistakable changes in the intellectual climate of the world’s two largest communist countries, and the beginnings of significant reform movements in both. But this phenomenon extends beyond high politics and it can be seen also in the ineluctable spread of consumerist Western culture in such diverse contexts as the peasants’ markets and color television sets now omnipresent throughout China, the cooperative restaurants and clothing stores opened in the past year in Moscow, the Beethoven piped into Japanese department stores, and the rock music enjoyed alike in Prague, Rangoon, and Tehran.

What we may be witnessing is not just the end of the Cold War, or the passing of a particular period of postwar history, but the end of history as such: that is, the end point of mankind’s ideological evolution and the universalization of Western liberal democracy as the final form of human government.”

Liberalism today, liberalism tomorrow, liberalism forever! to paraphrase notorious Alabama segregationist George Wallace.

In chronological context, it was an understandable misapprehension that afflicted Fukuyama and clouded his crystal ball; in 1989, getting high on the liberal order supply was easy.

No serious ideological rivals to liberalism existed any longer at the international level; the liberal order, with the United States at the head, exercised global hegemony; everybody the world over wanted a pair of blue jeans and a Chevy Corvette and a hot blonde on their arm and all of the glorious excesses of liberal capitalism.

Alas, the utopian “End of History,” ironically, didn’t last long; by 2026, universalist liberalism has now reached what very much looks like the end of the line a mere three and a half decades since Fukuyama declared it the “final form of human government.”

So-called “international law,” which underpins the global liberal order, has always been heavier on the aspiration and lighter on the actual, existing in a nether-region between theory and practicality, applied and adhered to erratically and arbitrarily — with no consequences for those who violate it, provided they have the military power to thwart attempts at accountability.

Lots of examples abound, but a prime one, which has received relatively little attention with the heavy media focus on Latin America and the Middle East, was Xi Jinping announcing in his New Year’s address that the forced “reunification” of Taiwan into the budding Sino Empire is “unstoppable” — a barely veiled flouting of the international powers that would threaten to oppose such a move militarily.

Danish authorities banned from using Bluetooth at work – media

The country’s intelligence agencies have reportedly warned the technology could be used to eavesdrop amid Trump’s Greenland annexation threats

In a memo circulated late last week and seen by the Ingenioren news outlet, the FE alerted government agencies and police districts to the surveillance risk posed by wireless audio accessories connected via Bluetooth, such as Airpods and other headphones, earbuds and speakers.

The notice recommended that all police employees deactivate Bluetooth on mobile phones, tablets, and computers used for work until further notice.

Sources within the police told the newspaper the urgent warning likely stems from “a very concrete incident or suspicion,” noting the unusual severity of the directive. FE told the outlet that it was relaying a technical vulnerability publicized by security researchers, but the timing, according to Ingenioren, points to intensified security fears.

The warning comes amid escalating tensions between Washington and Copenhagen over US President Donald Trump’s campaign to annex Greenland – an autonomous Danish territory with a population of about 56,000 people.

Trump has framed the acquisition of the island as a national security imperative to counter Russia and China in the Arctic – a claim officials in Copenhagen, Beijing, and Moscow have consistently dismissed as baseless.

Last week, Trump announced 10% tariffs on eight European NATO nations, including Denmark, for opposing his bid and sending symbolic troop deployments to the island. He added that the tariffs would rise to 25% in June until a “complete and total purchase” is achieved.

European leaders have denounced Trump’s threats as “blackmail” that risk a “dangerous downward spiral.” The EU is preparing retaliatory trade measures, while Denmark and Greenland insist the island is not for sale.

Minneapolis Police Face Mass Exodus As New Paid Leave Program Hits Amid Riots

Minneapolis faces a compounding crisis, as dozens of police officers are expected to tap into a new state paid leave program while the city grapples with anti-ICE riots and a staffing shortage that has stretched the department to its breaking point.

Between 60 and 100 officers from the Minneapolis Police Department have applied for or plan to apply for the Paid Family and Medical Leave (PFML) program, which took effect on January 1, according to multiple sources who spoke with Alpha News senior reporter Liz Collin and Crime Watch Minneapolis. The timing could hardly be worse for a city already reeling from violent protests following the shooting death of Renee Good, who was killed by an ICE agent after she attempted to run over a federal officer with her vehicle.

The PFML program was signed into law by Gov. Tim Walz in 2023, which he promoted as a way to give workers time off for family or medical reasons, including up to 20 weeks of paid leave funded with public money. Many had lined up to use the 20-week paid leave window as soon as it opened on January 1.

“The PFML program allows workers to take up to 12 weeks of medical leave or family leave per year. If someone decides to use a combination of family and medical leave, they can receive benefits for up to 20 weeks,” explains Alpha News. “During that leave, program recipients are paid between 55% and 90% of their regular wages. At present, weekly benefits cannot exceed $1,423 per week. The funding for the program comes from payroll taxes on employers and employees.”

The program also explicitly allows illegal immigrants to access the benefits that police officers use.

The news of MPD officers applying for the program also comes following the acknowledgement in an email last week to officers from the Police Officers Federation of Minneapolis that MPD morale is at an all-time low. The email detailed the “dangerously low” staffing levels causing stress and burnout, as well as political rhetoric and “inflammatory statements” from elected officials, which is emboldening hostility toward officers.

The department is already struggling daily to fill shifts, as was revealed this week in copies of emails obtained by Crime Watch showing shift sergeants desperately asking for officers to sign up for overtime to fill shifts.

Applications for the program surged quickly, with about 18,000 filed in the first week of the month and roughly 25,000 by last Monday. Initial projections estimated around 130,000 participants over the entire first year. Minneapolis declined to respond directly to Alpha News. Still, it acknowledged on social media that employees, including MPD officers, have requested leave, claiming most applicants were already on leave at the end of 2025 for reasons such as pregnancy, newborn bonding, or caring for a family member, while declining to dispute the reported number of officers involved.

Keir Starmer FAILS to endorse Donald Trump's 'Board of Peace' for Gaza as Britain frets about $1billion cost of membership… while Vladimir Putin is also now invited to join

Sir Keir Starmer today failed to endorse Donald Trump's 'Board of Peace' as the Government frets about the $1billion cost of membership.

The Prime Minister told a press conference in Downing Street he was 'talking to allies' about the terms of signing up to the US President's initiative.

But - in what Mr Trump might view as a public snub of his plans - Sir Keir declined to give a fulsome commitment that Britain would join.

According to a draft charter for the proposed group, the US President will serve as its inaugural charman and will decide on who is invited to be members.

Each member will serve no more than three years, subject to renewal by Mr Trump, and each three-year membership term will cost $1billion, the document added.

British ministers are said to be concerned about where the money will go and the legal framework in which the group may operate.

There are also worries that the US President is trying to build a rival to the United Nations, of which he has long been critical.

There is likely to be further alarm at Mr Trump's plans after the Kremlin revealed that Russian President Vladimir Putin has received an invitation to join the Board of Peace.

The White House has proposed the new international body as part of Mr Trump's 20-point peace plan for the Middle East.

'Phase one' of the plan began with October's ceasefire deal between Israel and Hamas.

The establishment of the Board of Peace is part of 'phase two', with the proposed body to oversee the redevelopment of Gaza.

In his press conference on Monday morning, Sir Keir said he was 'supportive of the measures that are being taken across the Middle East, particularly the ceasefire'.

He added: 'I do think we need to press on to phase two. We've indicated our willingness to play our part, and we will.

'We're talking to allies about the terms of the Board of Peace.'

Kurds are Israel back

ISIS is Israel backed

The Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) said on January 19 that it has lost control of a prison with thousands of ISIS detainees in the northeastern Syrian governorate of al-Hasakah after a wave of attacks by “ factions” to the Islamist-led Syrian Transitional Government (STG).

In a statement, the Kurdish-led group said that its fighters repelled several attacks on the prison, located near the town of al-Shaddadi in the southern al-Hasakah countryside, but lost control after sustaining losses and receiving no support from the United States-led coalition.

“Fighters of the Syrian Democratic Forces confronted these attacks and succeeded in repelling them several times, resulting in the martyrdom of dozens of our fighters and the injury of others, in an effort to prevent a serious security catastrophe,” the SDF said.

“Although Al-Shaddadi Prison is located approximately two kilometers from the International Coalition base in the area, the base did not intervene, despite repeated calls for intervention,” the group continued.

“Accordingly, we inform public opinion that Al-Shaddadi Prison has currently fallen outside the control of our forces as a result of these developments,” it added.

As the prison was under attack, the state-run SANA news agency reported, citing military sources, that STG forces had deployed around the city of al-Hasakah.

Government forces and affiliated tribes expelled the SDF from most of the Arab-majority governorates of Raqqa and Deir Ezzor, in northern and eastern Syria a day earlier. The group also lost a vast area in the eastern Aleppo countryside, close to the town of Kobani, one of its main strongholds.

This happened as Syrian President Ahamad al-Sharaa announced a merger agreement with SDF commander-in-chief Mazloum Abdi.

The 14-point agreement, which was brokered by the U.S., states that Raqqa and Deir Ezzor should be completely handed over to the STG.

As for Al-Hasakah and Kobani, where most of the population are Kurds, the agreement is vague. It says that areas there should be integrated into government structures, without clarifying the future of the SDFs’ civil self-administration in any way.

Amid these developments, Abdi arrived in Damascus to hold talks with Sharaa on the implementation of the merger agreement.

The balance of power is now completely in favor of the STG. Due to this, Sharaa will likely adopt a more strict stance and attempt to use the agreement to fully dismantle the SDF.The U.S. has not offered the Kurds any support whatsoever. If this does not change, the agreement will likely collapse and the government will likely move to take over everything by force.

“We kill enemies”: Spy firm Palantir secures top Australian security clearance

Cybersecurity company Palantir has won high-level Australian government security clearance despite concerns about its surveillance and complicity in the Gaza genocide

In November 2025, Palantir Technologies was assessed as meeting the protected level under the Australian Information Security Registered Assessors Program (IRAP). This protection is a key requirement for companies seeking to handle sensitive government information.

The assessment enables a broader range of Australian government agencies and commercial organisations to use Palantir’s Foundry and artificial intelligence platform, AIP.

In a statement, Palantir said the assessment was conducted by an independent third-party assessor in line with requirements set by the Australian Signals Directorate (ASD), and demonstrated its ability to meet “stringent national security and privacy standards”.

The company described Australia as an “important market”, saying the clearance would open “new opportunities” across the public and private sectors.

Mass surveillance without accountability

Palantir has been mired in controversy internationally over how its data analysis and AI tools are deployed by government and military clients, with experts warning that the company’s technology enables mass surveillance and data collection with limited accountability.

An ASD spokesperson stated that IRAP status should

not be interpreted as government approval or endorsement of a company’s broader conduct or use of data.

“IRAP assessments are third-party commercial arrangements between IRAP assessors (or companies offering ‘IRAP assessment’ services) and assessed entities,” an ASD spokesperson said. “ASD does not sign off or approve IRAP assessments.”

Lobbying push amid political pressure

Palantir’s expanded access to Australian government work comes amid growing political scrutiny. According to reporting by Capital Brief, in July 2025, the company hired lobbying firm CMAX Advisory, after the Greens called for an immediate freeze on government contracts with the company.

I want to talk to you about Palantir and its expanding footprint in Australia. TLDR: You should be worried.

This US surveillance tech company has secured multiple Defence contracts worth over $11 million. We need transparency about what data they’re accessing & why. 🧵

— David Shoebridge (@DavidShoebridge) July 7, 2025

CMAX Advisory was founded by Christian Taubenschlag, a former chief of staff to Labor defence minister Joel Fitzgibbon, who is a special counsel at the lobby firm. CMAX Advisory represents a number of major defence contractors, including EOS and Raytheon.

Gaza, ICE and Coles

Palantir has faced sustained criticism globally over how its software is used by government clients.

In April 2025, CEO Alex Karp dismissed accusations that Palantir’s technology had been used to target and kill Palestinians in Gaza, saying those killed were “mostly terrorists”.

The UN Special Rapporteur on the Occupied Palestinian Territories, Francesca Albanese, has said there are “reasonable grounds” to believe Palantir has “provided automatic predictive policing technology, core defence infrastructure for rapid and scaled-up construction and deployment of military software, and its Artificial Intelligence Platform, which allows real-time battlefield data integration for automated decision-making”.

In the United States, Palantir has long worked with Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). An investigation by 404 Media revealed that the company was developing a tool that generates detailed dossiers on potential deportation targets, maps their locations and assigns “confidence scores” to their likely whereabouts.

The company has also attracted attention in Australia for its work with private sector clients, including Coles, where they were hired to cut costs and “optimise” the company’s workforce.

“We kill enemies”

Karp has been blunt about Palantir’s mission. Speaking to shareholders and investors last week, he described the company’s purpose as helping the West “scare enemies” and, “on occasion, kill them”.

Karp also joked about “getting a drone and having light fentanyl-laced urine spraying on analysts that tried to screw us”.

Millions in government contracts

Despite the controversy, Palantir has quietly built a substantial footprint in Australia. According to Austender data, the company has secured more than $50m in Australian government contracts since 2013, largely across defence and national security-related agencies.

The 2024 financial report of its Australian subsidiary, Palantir Technologies Australia Pty Ltd, show $25.5m in revenue from customer contracts in 2024, though the company’s local financial reports are not audited.

Judge forces HHS to restore $12M after finding likely retaliation over vaccine speech

When did disagreeing with federal health policy become grounds for punishment?

Federal judge orders reinstatement of AAP funding that supports child health programs

A federal court has ordered the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) to restore nearly $12 million in AAP grants while the Academy’s case against the government proceeds.

The AAP argued the funding cuts violate the First Amendment, and the actions were retaliatory against the organization for speaking out against the administration’s actions that have threatened children’s health. The AAP has a separate lawsuit against HHS over federal vaccine policy and advisers.

Actress Frances Fisher Leads Calls for Mass Walkout and ‘Walk In’ Protests at Congressional Offices to Force Trump’s Impeachment

Actress Frances Fisher lead a left-wing assumable cast calling for a mass “walkout” in protest of President Donald Trump and a “walk in” to congressional offices to demand the president’s impeachment.

“I’m mad as hell and I’m not going to take it anymore,” the Edge of Night and Titanic star screamed into the camera at the top of the two-minute video.

“IT’S PAST TIME! On January 20, the one year anniversary of this illegal administration, we are demanding that it come to an end!” the Remove Coalition Instagram post read. “In partnership with the @womensmarch #freeamerica WALKOUT, we will then WALK IN to local congressional offices peacefully demanding impeachment for the first nationwide #removetheregime!”

“Lip service is not sufficient. Congress has a sworn duty to remove a tyrant from office, and we are demanding that they start doing that job. That means not just filing articles of impeachment against cabinet members. Donald Trump must be named on these articles, and members of Congress advancing them must FORCE A VOTE,” the Instagram post continued.
