Resolute Desk ( H.M.S Resolute)
Timbers from HMS Resolute were later used to construct the Resolute Desk, a double pedestal partners' desk gifted by Queen Victoria to President Rutherford B. Hayes in 1880. The desk has since been used by nearly every U.S. president in the White House Oval Office, with notable exceptions being Lyndon B. Johnson, Richard Nixon, and Gerald Ford. The desk was originally located on the Second Floor of the White House before being moved to the West Wing in 1902, and later updated with a Presidential Coat-of-Arms panel in 1945.
