> The US is going to leave NATO; and what remains of NATO will become the core of a new European Military, which will fill the technical gaps left by the departing US
> If the US is the one making the decision, it will make Europe appear weak
> So it must be done in a way where it appears that the other NATO nations have kicked the US out, not that they're choosing to leave
> So we have Trump threatening an ally, giving them the opportunity to look strong before the split happens
