Because Christianity is a kingdom of mind and spirit, not land and temple. Your body is your temple and God is in you. Where ever you go God is with you and you can pray freely for whatever and not have to pay or sacrifice anything for the prayer because once upon a time you had to go to the temple, The House of God and pay to pray.
Jesus was a scapegoat and if you believe in the sacrifice then you need not sacrifice ever again.
