From Perplexity:

>The word "assassin" originates from Arabic, linked to a medieval sect known for targeted killings.

Arabic Roots

It entered English around the 1530s via medieval French and Italian forms like Assissini or Assassini, derived from Arabic hashīshīn (plural of hashishiyy), a nickname for the Nizari Ismaili sect during the Crusades in the Middle East. This term, from the 12th century, connected to hashish (cannabis resin), though its exact sense is debated—possibly implying "hashish users" as a derogatory label by enemies.

From Fallout: "War…war never changes.''

Go to the little interior towns. Salt of the Earth peeps. Cities are full of town clowns and leeches. The coast is beautiful, but tricky to avoid the crowds. When you start seeing Lambos parked on the street bc the Bentley is in the garage, you're in the wrong town.
