After he graduated, Dr. Abukar worked with the FBI to organize a Community Relations Executive Seminar Training (CREST) program with the Somali community. The CREST took place at the Somali American United Council Center, where attendees learned about civil rights, human trafficking, and cyber and white-collar crime programs.

The Somali - American united council of Arizona is the most hardworking community based non profit organization in Phoenix aimed at building a relationship between the Somali people and the mainstream community. The community has helped and continues to help both the youth and elderly. Created in 2006, the organization specializes in helping new families adapt in a way that they can integrate without losing their own identity and culture. Somalis, especially new Somalis often feel isolated and segregated from the rest of society. Language barrier and cultural differences are just two of the many reasons why this problem persists. SAUC provides comprehensive education and the necessary tools needed in order for immigrants to be a beneficial part of society.

One of the main objectives is to cultivate understanding and coexistence between the Somali community and the mainstream general public. As mentioned, oftentimes, there are language barriers that can make even the slightest interaction difficult and uncomfortable. SAUC offers translation services as well as other resources to help ease the difficulties of learning and speaking a new language.

Dr. Mohamed Ali Abukar is the founder and president of Somali-American United Council. He is a family orientated man and still manages to dedicate time his community. He holds a PhD in public administration. Dr. Abukar is a Somali-American and his life story makes him relatable to many immigrants. He has shown a tremendous passion and leadership by offering new Somalis a helping hand in starting their lives and becoming successful in their new country. Another important figure is Melody Harmon who uses her legal background to offer help and support to the Somalis in the community.

This grassroots organization has proven to be very useful and has achieved success because it specifically caters to the needs of Somalis. There are many issues within the community such as structural discrimination that the organization works to eliminate. SAUC inspires youth into leadership positions so they can eventually, lead their communities to a brighter future. Equality is another aspect that SAUC strives to accomplish. The fact that many immigrants find it difficult to find jobs in order to support their families, leads to many of them ending up on government support. SAUC provides immigrants who are in this predicament with appropriate job search skills and even go as far as helping them find a placement. Without organizations like SAUC, it would be hard for the immigrants to express their concern in a public manner.

SAUC'S mission is to improve the quality of life of the Somali community as a whole whether they are Americans or immigrants. It is very clear that this cannot be achieved without the help of the outside community, which is why we stress and advocate for diversity and intercultural dialogue. It is critical that the outside community understands the issues so that they can hopefully be a part of the solution. This helps facilitate public awareness, which in turn brings more solutions to help the crucial problems Somalis face in society. Many events are held year round to gather the Somali community. The latest event was held May 19th by the Women’s Empowerment group who are part of the SAUC and well known Somali superstars Sada Ali and Halima Sacdia attended the event. The Somali-American United Council should serve as an example to many organizations whose aim is to empower their own community.

Our Vision

We envision an unparalleled state of giving — a Minnesota where innovative technology and creative ideas help each person’s generosity soar to its full potential.

Our Mission

We ignite generosity and grow giving. Using creative ideas and innovative technology, we connect more people with more causes than ever before.

Our Values

Operate from Abundance

GiveMN operates from a place of abundance, not scarcity, believing that philanthropy is not a zero-sum game and that our resources are best invested in ideas that ‘grow the pie’ and bring more people to the philanthropic table.

Connected to Community

GiveMN is accountable to and connected with the communities we serve, believing that our ideas are improved by listening and responding to the needs of our stakeholders and that when making strategic decisions, we will be informed by the organizations and donors we serve and the funders who support our work.

Equity in Action

GiveMN has a responsibility to actualize systems, practices, and services that create more equitable access to resources, acknowledging that structures of inequity exist in philanthropy.

We apply multiple equity lenses to our decision-making and prioritize serving communities and individuals with less access to resources.

Courage to Try

GiveMN strongly values informed action over prolonged analysis and believes that the substantial change we want to realize in our state requires courage, innovation, andcalculated risk.

Our team is reflective and persistent in pursuing results and strives to

learn from both our successes and our failures.

If you husband or wife refers to you as “partner” you are not in a marriage , they see you as a “business partner”. Went into it always thinking “it can be dissolved” from the jump.

This chick is GROSS.

Apply the best advice/knowledge:

The primary Bible verse for "crucify the flesh" is Galatians 5:24, which states: "And they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts" (KJV). This verse signifies that believers have decisively turned away from their old sinful nature and desires, choosing instead to live guided by the Holy Spirit.

Key Context and Meaning:

Galatians 5:24 (NIV): "Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires".

Definition of "Flesh": It refers to the natural, sinful impulses, passions, and selfish desires that conflict with God's Spirit.

Significance: Crucifixion represents a public, voluntary, and final break from a life ruled by sin.

Actionable Aspect: It is a process of putting to death the old nature (Romans 8:13), often described as a daily act of walking by the Spirit rather than gratifying sinful cravings.

Related Concept: This is linked to being "crucified with Christ" (Galatians 2:20), where a believer's old self is buried with Him.

Complementary Verses:

Romans 8:13: "For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify [put to death] the deeds of the body, ye shall live."

Colossians 3:5: "Mortify therefore your members which are upon the earth; fornication, uncleanness, inordinate affection, evil concupiscence, and covetousness, which is idolatry."

Galatians 2:20: "I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me…"

The traditional "till death do us part" wedding vow, often rooted in the Book of Common Prayer, is a solemn, lifelong commitment. It pledges love through all life's circumstances—good, bad, rich, or poor—until death separates the couple.

Common Traditional Vow Text:

"I, [Name], take thee, [Name], to be my wedded [wife/husband], to have and to hold from this day forward, for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish, till death do us part".

Variations and Key Elements:

Anglican/Traditional: "…till death us do part, according to God's holy ordinance; and thereto I plight thee my troth".

Modern Traditional: "…in good times and in bad, in sickness and in health, until death do us part. I promise to love and cherish you all the days of my life".

Commitment: The phrase signifies a promise of faithfulness regardless of life's challenges.

Pair Bonding instruction should be the goal moving forward.

It is a lost topic of truth.-

It should become the new old thing to make a comeback.

Pair bonding—the intense emotional, psychological, and biological attachment between two individuals—is essential for human health, stability, and reproductive success. It promotes biparental care of offspring, fosters long-term cooperation, and provides emotional security that reduces stress. Pairs often experience improved physical health, such as lower cardiovascular risks and greater longevity.

Key Benefits of Pair Bonding

Enhanced Health and Well-being: Pair-bonded individuals often report lower levels of stress, anxiety, and depression, notes ScienceDirect.com. They often experience better immune function and, specifically for married individuals, live longer.

Offspring Survival and Development: The biological purpose of pair bonding centers on increasing child survival through bi-parental care, ensuring better protection and resources.

Biological and Chemical Security: Pair bonds are supported by neurochemistry (oxytocin, dopamine) that fosters a sense of safety and reward, strengthening the bond over time.

Improved Cooperation: Pair bonds encourage interdependence and shared goals, leading to mutual investment in each other's success.

Why Humans Pair Bond

Evolutionary Strategy: Historically, pair bonding developed to support offspring that required significant, long-term care.

Social Stability: Pair bonding encourages cooperation and reduces destructive competition within social groups, enabling the development of larger, more stable communities.

Emotional Safety: It provides a safe harbor, allowing individuals to navigate life's stresses through mutual support.

Effects of Pair Bonding

Pair bonding has a profound effect on physiology, often leading to synchronized heart rates and shared physiological states that enhance feelings of closeness. It is not merely a social construct but a biological drive that influences human behavior, from romantic love to parental nurturing.

Long-term Commitment: While it may begin with intense romantic passion, it often evolves into a deep, long-lasting partnership focused on companionship.

Individual Growth: A strong, secure bond acts as a secure base, which can improve individual mental health and overall life satisfaction.
