vid of shooting in Minneapolis
I think the agents thought this was a weapon or a bomb or something. It seems when he gets shot he drops this and rolls on the ground and stops by his feet. Just an observation.
Or, like you saidโฆperhaps he grabbed for the officer's weapon.
It's this officer's mace canister, I think?
If the protestor grabbed that can of mace, is that grounds for shooting them?

This canister had something to do with the shooting, I think.
Based on the description and the context of the incident, the object appears to be a handgun that was reportedly in the possession of the person who was shot. Reports from the scene indicate that the individual was armed with a firearm (a semi-automatic pistol with a silver or chrome slide and black frame/grip), which was recovered by agents during the altercation. In video footage of the event, a gun matching this description is visible on the ground amid the struggle, likely dropped during the physical confrontation before shots were fired. It's unlikely to be a mace or pepper spray canister, as those are typically smaller, more uniform in color (often all black or with colored labels), and not commonly associated with this specific incidentโthough agents did deploy crowd-control devices like flashbangs and smoke grenades later to disperse protesters. A coffee mug doesn't fit the chaotic enforcement context, and a bomb is improbable given no reports of explosives or detonations. If this doesn't match what you're seeing or if you have a clearer image/video link, I can refine the analysis.

It didn't look like a handgun to me. It looked like a can or a coffee mug or something.

I just spoke with the White House after another horrific shooting by federal agents this morning. Minnesota has had it. This is sickening.
The President must end this operation. Pull the thousands of violent, untrained officers out of Minnesota. Now.
