Ukrainian drone strike sets Russian oil depot ablaze for second day — fire crews battle blaze and bitter cold
January 24, 2026, 05:27 AM
A fire at a major oil depot in the Russian city of Penza continued to burn for a second straight day following a Ukrainian drone strike, Russian officials said.
The Russian Telegram channel Astra reported the incident on Jan. 24, citing local authorities who said 150 emergency personnel and more than 40 firefighting vehicles had been deployed to the scene.
Penza Oblast Governor Oleh Melnichenko said such fires are difficult to extinguish because petroleum products must burn off completely. “We’re fighting not just the fire, but the cold as well,” he said.
The blaze erupted overnight on Jan. 23 after drones struck the PenzaNefteProdukt facility. Russian officials claimed air defenses intercepted four unmanned aerial vehicles.
Ukraine’s General Staff later confirmed its forces had hit the oil depot, sparking a fire. Satellite imagery showed that at least two fuel storage tanks were damaged or destroyed.
According to official Russian data, PenzaNefteProdukt is one of the largest fuel businesses in Penza Oblast and the Republic of Mordovia. The company sells various types of fuel through its proprietary gas station network and owns three large oil depots.

IDF says strike targeted 2 Gazans who crossed Yellow Line, planted bombs near troops
January 24, 2026 4:51 pm
The Israeli Air Force struck and killed several Palestinian terror operatives who crossed the ceasefire line and planted explosives near troops in the northern Gaza Strip on Saturday, the military said.
According to the Israel Defense Forces, the operatives were identified crossing the Yellow Line, planting a bomb in the ground, and approaching troops of the Gaza Division’s Northern Brigade “in a way that posed an immediate threat.”
The IAF then struck and “eliminated the terrorists to remove the threat,” the military said.
Palestinian media reported that two boys were killed in a drone strike in the Strip’s north around noon Saturday. They were identified as Mohammad and Suleiman al-Zawar’a, ages 15 and 14, respectively.
According to the reports, they were killed while collecting firewood near the now-defunct Kamal Adwan Hospital, which is situated on the Hamas-controlled side of the Gaza ceasefire line.
Since October 10, a fragile US-sponsored truce in Gaza has largely halted the fighting between Israeli forces and Hamas, but both sides have alleged frequent ceasefire violations.
Meanwhile, Gaza hospitals have received twelve people wounded and four people killed by the IDF over the past 48 hours, the Strip’s Hamas-run health ministry said Saturday.
It did not identify the dead, say where the people were killed, wounded, or specify the severity of the wounds.
Mohaed Abu Selmiya, director of Gaza City’s Shifa Hospital, was cited by The Associated Press on Thursday, saying the hospital received the bodies of four Palestinians killed by IDF tank shelling in eastern Gaza City.
The IDF has not commented, but attributes such strikes to ceasefire violations by Hamas.
According to Palestinian media, the four people were killed on the Hamas-controlled side of the Gaza ceasefire line. They were not identified in the reports.
The Hamas-run ministry also said in its daily report Saturday that a three-month-old baby boy died of cold exposure in Gaza. He was identified as Ali Abu Zur.
The ministry said he died at the al-Aqsa Martyrs’ Hospital in Deir al-Balah, in the Strip’s center. Palestinian media reported he died on Thursday.
Israeli forces have killed over 400 Palestinians in Gaza since the ceasefire-hostage agreement took effect in October, according to the Gaza health ministry, over two years after Hamas invaded southern Israel, sparking the war in Gaza.
The Hamas-controlled ministry’s toll cannot be verified and does not differentiate between civilians and gunmen.
The United Nations children’s agency said earlier in January that over 100 of the Gazans killed during the ceasefire were children.

Iran's Revolutionary Guard commander warns the US his force has its 'finger on the trigger'
Last Updated January 24, 2026 04:01 pm
DUBAI, United Arab Emirates (AP) — The commander of Iran’s paramilitary Revolutionary Guard, which was key in putting down recent nationwide protests in a crackdown that left thousands dead, warned that his force is “more ready than ever, finger on the trigger,” as U.S. warships headed toward the Middle East.
Nournews, a news outlet close to Iran’s Supreme National Security Council, reported on its Telegram channel that the commander, Gen. Mohammad Pakpour, warned the United States and Israel “to avoid any miscalculation.”
“The Islamic Revolutionary Guard and dear Iran stand more ready than ever, finger on the trigger, to execute the orders and directives of the Commander-in-Chief,” Nournews quoted Pakpour as saying.
Tension remains high between Iran and the U.S. in the wake of a bloody crackdown on protests that began on Dec. 28, triggered by the collapse of Iran’s currency, the rial, and swept the country for about two weeks.
Meanwhile, the number of people reported by activists as having been arrested jumped to more than 40,000, as fears grow some could face the death penalty.
Trump’s warnings
U.S. President Donald Trump has repeatedly warned Tehran, setting two red lines for the use of military force: the killing of peaceful demonstrators and the mass execution of people arrested in the protests.
Trump has repeatedly said Iran halted the execution of 800 people detained in the protests. He has not elaborated on the source of the claim, which Iran’s top prosecutor, Mohammad Movahedi, strongly denied Friday in comments carried by the judiciary’s Mizan news agency.
On Thursday, Trump said aboard Air Force One that the U.S. was moving warships toward Iran “just in case” he wants to take action.
“We have a massive fleet heading in that direction and maybe we won’t have to use it,” Trump said.
A U.S. Navy official, who spoke on condition of anonymity to discuss military movements, said Thursday that the aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln and other warships traveling with it were in the Indian Ocean.
Trump also mentioned the multiple rounds of talks American officials had with Iran over its nuclear program before Israel launched a 12-day war against the Islamic Republic in June, which also saw U.S. warplanes bomb Iranian nuclear sites.
He threatened Iran with military action that would make earlier U.S. strikes against Iranian uranium enrichment sites “look like peanuts.”

Airline jitters
The tension has led at least two European airlines to suspend some flights to the wider region.
Air France canceled two return flights from Paris to Dubai over the weekend.
The airline said it was “closely following developments in the Middle East in real time and continuously monitors the geopolitical situation in the territories served and overflown by its aircraft in order to ensure the highest level of flight safety and security.”
It said it would resume its service to Dubai later Saturday.
Luxair said it had postponed its Saturday flight from Luxembourg to Dubai by 24 hours “in light of ongoing tensions and insecurity affecting the region’s airspace, and in line with measures taken by several other airlines.”
It told the AP it was closely monitoring the situation “and a decision on whether the flight will operate tomorrow will be taken based on the ongoing assessment.”
Arrivals information at Dubai’s international airport also showed the cancellation of Saturday flights from Amsterdam by Dutch carriers KLM and Transavia. The airlines did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
Some KLM flights to Tel Aviv in Israel were also canceled on Friday and Saturday, according to online flight trackers.
Rising death toll and arrests
Although there have been no further demonstrations in Iran for days, the death toll reported by activists has continued to rise as information trickles out despite the most comprehensive internet blackout in Iran’s history, which has now lasted more than two weeks.
The U.S.-based Human Rights Activists News Agency on Saturday put the death toll at 5,200, with the number expected to increase. The group’s figures have been accurate in previous unrest and rely on a network of activists in Iran to verify deaths.
That death toll exceeds that of any other round of protest or unrest there in decades, and recalls the chaos surrounding Iran’s 1979 Islamic Revolution.
Iran’s government offered its first death toll on Wednesday, saying 3,117 people were killed. It said 2,427 were civilians and security forces, and labeled the rest as “terrorists.”
In the past, Iran’s theocracy has undercounted or not reported fatalities from unrest.
The activist agency on Saturday also increased the total number of people arrested to 40,879 — a significant jump from the more than 27,700 people in its previous update.
There have been fears Iran could apply the death penalty to arrested protesters, as it has done in the past.
Iranian judiciary officials have called some of those being held “mohareb” — or “enemies of God” — a charge that carries the death penalty. It had been used along with other charges to carry out mass executions in 1988 that reportedly killed at least 5,000 people.
At a U.N. Human Rights Council special session on Iran held in Geneva Friday, Volker Türk, the U.N.’s high commissioner for human rights, expressed concern over “contradictory statements from the Iranian authorities about whether those detained in connection with the protests may be executed.”
He said Iran “remains among the top executioner states in the world,” with at least 1,500 people reportedly executed last year — a 50% increase over 2024.

Three civilians killed in drone strike apparently targeting voter registration workers in Launglon, Myanmar
January 23, 2026
The attack occurred on January 20 as a group of voter registration workers, guarded by junta troops, were entering a house in the village, according to locals.
The explosion hit the house, killing three adult women and injuring two others, including a child, a human rights activist from Launglon Township said.
“The attack seems to have been aimed at the group that was going from house to house collecting voter registrations. But it struck a residential area instead.
Three civilian women were killed, and a man and a child were injured. It appears the strike was carried out by a resistance group targeting the registration team, but something went wrong,” he said.
The junta has announced that the final round of voting in the election will be held on January 25, with Launglon, Thayetchaung, and Palaw townships in Tanintharyi Region included in this round.
However, local sources said that in Launglon Township, where resistance forces are active in many areas, the junta will only be able to open polling stations in some downtown wards of Launglon and in a few settlements in the Sakhangyi and Kamyawkin village tracts.
No group has claimed responsibility for the drone strike.
“We don’t know which group carried it out. We only learned about the incident through the news,” said an officer from the Launglon People’s Defence Force (PDF).
Many resistance groups based in Tanintharyi Region, along with the Karen National Union (KNU) Brigade 4, have already announced that they strongly oppose and categorically reject the junta’s election.
Furthermore, the Brigade-4 Coordination Team (BCT-4), a joint body made up of PDF units under the National Unity Government (NUG) and KNU Brigade 4 forces, issued a statement on December 23 last year warning that it would not tolerate any actions that facilitate the holding of the election.

2 civilians killed in RSF drone strike on Sudan’s Kordofan: Medics
Update : 24.01.2026
Two civilians were killed Saturday in a drone strike carried out by the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) in Dilling, a city in Sudan’s South Kordofan region, the Sudan Doctors Network said.
In a statement, the network said the drone was operated by the RSF and its ally, the Sudan People’s Liberation Movement–North (SPLM-N), and struck the Fath al-Rahman neighborhood.
The attack killed a woman and a man and wounded several other civilians, the network said, without providing an exact number of injured.
Describing the strike as a clear violation of international calls to protect civilians, the group condemned what it called the “deliberate targeting of noncombatants” and held both the RSF and SPLM-N responsible for the incident.
The network urged the international community, the US and human rights organizations to pressure the two groups to lift the siege on Dilling, halt attacks on civilians, allow unhindered humanitarian access and ensure accountability for violations.
Neither the RSF nor the SPLM-N had commented on the report at the time of publication. Sudanese authorities, along with local and regional organizations, have previously accused both groups of abuses against civilians.
Dilling has remained under siege by the RSF and SPLM-N since the early months of the conflict that erupted more than two years ago and has been repeatedly hit by artillery shelling and drone attacks.
Fighting has intensified in recent weeks across the three Kordofan states, where clashes between the army and the RSF have forced tens of thousands of civilians to flee their homes.
Of Sudan’s 18 states, the RSF controls all five states in the western Darfur region, except for parts of North Darfur that remain under army control.
The army holds most areas of the remaining 13 states across the south, north, east and center of the country, including the capital, Khartoum.
The conflict between the Sudanese army and the RSF, which began in April 2023, has killed thousands of people and displaced millions.

Drone forces delay of LifeFlight transport from Primary Children's Hospital
Updated Sat, January 24, 2026 at 8:34 AM
LEHI, Utah (KUTV) — A drone spotted above a LifeFlight helicopter delayed the transport of a child in critical care from the Primary Children's Hospital in Utah County.
A drone was caught on camera flying directly above a helicopter landing at the hospital on Thursday afternoon, according to officials with the Lehi City Police Department.
The video was filmed by officials with the South Jordan Fire Department and shared with Lehi police.
Police said when drones are spotted in an area, all air operations cease until it's determined that there is no further danger to aircraft.
In this case, the helicopter was at the hospital to pick up a child in critical care needing to move to a different medical facility. The transportation was delayed after the drone was spotted.
"This means an unnecessary and COMPLETELY preventable delay to that critical care transport," police wrote in a social media post.
In addition to interrupting critical missions, police said flying drones near aircraft poses a significant safety risk to people in the air and on the ground.
"Flying drones near helicopters is extremely dangerous, illegal, and can cause catastrophic collisions, forcing emergency aircraft to ground during critical missions," police said.
They continued to note that flying drones within three-fourths of a mile of a helipad could result in fines and jail time.
"Should those who decide to stupidly and selfishly fly a drone near a helicopter be identified they will be prosecuted," officials said.
This comes several months after Provo firefighters called on drone operators to stop flying near a wildfire in Buckley Draw Canyon.
One fire official said it was the highest number of drone incursions she had seen in her entire career.
The drones caused aircraft to ground, delaying fire suppression efforts.

US aviation authorities issue ‘national security’ warning over drone flights near sensitive sites
January 24, 2026
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has introduced sweeping new restrictions on unmanned aircraft, warning pilots that drones perceived as a threat to national security may be seized or destroyed.
In a move that signals a hardening stance on domestic airspace security, the FAA has issued a comprehensive advisory (FDC 6/4375) aimed at keeping drone operators away from sensitive government facilities and mobile military assets.
The ‘Stay-Away’ Zone
Under the new “Special Security Instructions,” drone pilots are strictly prohibited from operating within 3,000 feet (915 metres) laterally and 1,000 feet (300 metres) vertically of designated sites.
While fixed locations like military bases and nuclear research facilities are covered, the notice also extends to “mobile assets.” This includes naval vessels, such as US Coast Guard ships, and ground vehicle convoys.
For the average hobbyist or commercial pilot, this means that even an encounter with a secure transport on a motorway could lead to a legal confrontation.
Severe Sanctions
The language of the notice is notably blunt regarding non-compliance.
Those found to be in breach of the restricted airspace—designated as ‘National Defense Airspace’—face a tiered system of punishment:
Criminal Prosecution: Operators could face federal charges.
Administrative Action: The FAA reserves the right to impose heavy civil penalties (fines) and revoke pilot certificates or operating authorities.
Physical Mitigation: In a significant escalation, the advisory notes that the government may use “interference, interception, seizure, or destruction” to neutralise any drone deemed a credible threat.
Coordination and Caution
The FAA has advised that any drone flight required for “overriding reasons of public interest”—such as search and rescue or disaster response—must be coordinated in advance with the relevant department, whether it be the Department of Defense (DoD) or Homeland Security (DHS).
For the broader drone community, the message is clear: the onus is on the pilot to maintain a wide berth.
With some sensitive assets being mobile and not always appearing on static maps, the FAA is urging “extreme caution” when flying anywhere near government operations.
In the spirit of The Guardian’s consumer advocacy and public safety reporting, here is your essential pre-flight checklist for navigating the increasingly complex web of US “National Defense Airspace.”
A Pilot’s Guide to the ‘No-Fly’ Zone: How to Stay Legal
Before you power up your rotors in the United States, follow these steps to ensure you aren’t inadvertently drifting into a federal confrontation.
1/2
-
Consult the Digital ‘Safety Map’
The FAA no longer maintains a single “B4UFLY” app. Instead, they delegate this to approved third-party providers. For 2026, the industry standard for real-time awareness is Aloft (Air Aware) or Airspace Link.
Action: Download an FAA-approved app and check for “Temporary Flight Restrictions” (TFRs) and “Special Security Instructions” (SSI).
What to look for: Any area shaded in Solid Red or with a Hatched Border. These are your hard “No-Go” zones.
-
Inspect the ‘UDDS’ Interactive Map
For the most specific data on fixed national security sites (like nuclear plants or military bases), use the FAA UAS Data Delivery System (UDDS) website.
Action: Visit udds-faa.opendata.arcgis.com.
Insight: Unlike standard hobbyist maps, this site highlights 14 CFR 99.7 restrictions—the high-level security zones that carry the heaviest penalties.
-
The ‘Mobile Bubble’ Rule
As of the latest advisory, some restrictions are invisible and moving. These “roving” zones surround military convoys and Coast Guard vessels.
The Rule: Keep a 3,000ft (915m) horizontal buffer from any government-marked vehicle or vessel.
The Reality: These will not show up on your app in real-time. If you see a convoy of black SUVs with flashing lights or a grey naval hull, land immediately or fly in the opposite direction.
-
Check the Official NOTAM List
If you are planning a commercial shoot or a sensitive flight, checking the official Notice to Airmen (NOTAM) list is a legal necessity.
Action: Search the FAA NOTAM Search portal for your specific location.
Keyword: Look for “Security” or “National Defense” advisories.
-
When in Doubt, Liaise
If your flight path is near a “grey area,” the onus is on you to prove you aren’t a threat.
Contact: For emergency or public interest flights, contact the FAA System Operations Support Center (SOSC) at +1 (202) 267-8276.
Coordination: Ensure you have written permission if you are operating within the 1,000ft/3,000ft “stand-off” distance of a government facility.

🚨 BREAKING: The Department of War just admitted they have Directed Energy Weapons (DEWs) and are scaling them up! "Light-Speed Lethality" – sounds like sci-fi, but it's real. 😱
But wait… is this concerning? Remember the 1977 Colares UFO incident in Brazil? Reports of "UFOs" firing energy beams at people on the ground, causing burns, paralysis, and even deaths.
Victims described light beams like lasers sucking blood or causing radiation sickness. The Brazilian Air Force investigated under Operation Saucer and documented it all.
Were those "aliens" actually early US DEW tests? 🤔
Fast forward: US military & intel folks hit with Havana Syndrome – brain injuries from mysterious attacks. Gov blames Russia, but now we're admitting WE have these weapons? Could the US be testing them on our own people? Or covering up accidents?
If DEWs are "dominant," who's really in control? Time for full disclosure!
What do you think? Alien tech, gov experiments, or something worse? Drop your thoughts below! 👇

'Aliens Walk Among Us' Claims Whistleblower – And Some of Them Are Famous Figures
24 January 2026, 10:25 AM GMT
A UFO whistleblower has sparked renewed fascination and controversy after claiming that extraterrestrials are not only visiting Earth freely, but may have lived among humans for thousands of years — sometimes emerging as some of history's most influential figures.
Daniel 'Danny' Sheehan, a US lawyer known for his involvement in recent congressional testimony surrounding Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena (UAPs), has made a series of extraordinary claims about alien life, human evolution and long-alleged government cover-ups.
His statement from almost two years ago during a podcast appearance, Sheehan suggested that non-human intelligences interacting with Earth are vastly more advanced than modern civilisation — by as much as two billion years.
Aliens Living Among Us
According to Sheehan, these beings have surpassed humanity not only technologically, but mentally and psychically.
He claims they possess abilities that still sit at the fringes of scientific understanding, including telepathy, teleportation, astral travel and remote viewing.
These capabilities, he argues, are often misunderstood or dismissed because contemporary science lacks the framework to fully explain them.
'They're not supernatural entities or spirits from another realm,' Sheehan said. 'They are biologically connected to us — part of the same human family — but they've evolved far beyond what we currently recognise as human potential.'
One of Sheehan's most striking assertions is that individuals throughout history who appeared to possess extraordinary abilities may have been mistaken for divine or religious figures.
He believes ancient societies, unable to rationalise such advanced capabilities, interpreted them through spiritual or theological lenses.
Famous Figures Who Might Have Been Aliens
Figures such as Jesus Christ or the Buddha, he claims, may have been humans — or human-related beings — who had reached an advanced stage of cognitive and psychic evolution.
When asked whether this theory could explain the origins of organised religion, Sheehan responded firmly: 'Yes. There's no doubt about it.'
Beyond historical speculation, Sheehan has also repeated claims of secret government programmes dedicated to studying recovered UFOs.
He alleges that hidden facilities exist where hundreds of non-human craft are stored and analysed, and that these technologies are not the product of human engineering.
In previous statements, Sheehan has gone even further, suggesting extraterrestrials have conducted genetic research involving humans, including the collection of eggs and sperm.
These claims remain unproven and highly controversial, but have added fuel to long-standing conspiracy theories surrounding alien abduction and covert experimentation.
Despite the sensational nature of his remarks, Sheehan insists he is not motivated by fantasy or speculation.
He describes himself as a cautious and methodical thinker who relies on testimony from credible military, intelligence and scientific insiders.
In recent years, he has played a key role in helping whistleblowers present evidence to the US Congress in an effort to push for transparency around UAP encounters.
Sheehan believes humanity is approaching a moment of reckoning, where decades of secrecy may soon unravel.
He argues that public interest has reached a critical level and that governments will eventually be forced to disclose what he claims they have known for generations.
Whether regarded as visionary or deeply contentious, Sheehan's claims continue to captivate audiences around the world.
If his assertions hold any truth, they could fundamentally alter humanity's understanding of history, religion and its place in the cosmos.
For now, the idea that aliens may have been among us all along remains firmly in the realm of speculation — but one that refuses to fade quietly into the shadows.

News from The New Paradigm Institute: David Grusch Cites Cheney; Karl Nell Discusses How to Determine What’s Real and What’s Disinformation
Jan 19, 2026
David Grusch on The Megyn Kelly Show - Recently, UFO/UAP whistleblower David Grusch appeared on The Megyn Kelly Show for a brief but revealing interview.
During the conversation, Grusch named individuals he claimed were involved in managing the alleged UFO/UAP Legacy crash retrieval program, statements that immediately drew attention across the disclosure community.
Most notably, Grusch asserted that former Vice President Dick Cheney played a central role in overseeing the program.
Cheney’s name has circulated within UFO/UAP research circles for years, but this marks the first time it has been spoken publicly by a former intelligence official who claims direct knowledge of the issue.
It is also notable that just weeks ago, journalist Ross Coulthart independently referenced Cheney in a similar context, lending additional weight to the consistency of these claims.
Grusch also named former Director of National Intelligence James Clapper, stating that Clapper was not only aware of the crash retrieval issue, but managed it and helped place individuals into key roles, both publicly and behind the scenes.
These are serious assertions that warrant scrutiny and further investigation, given their potential implications for disclosure.
Please watch the full interview and consider its significance within the broader context of the disclosure conversation.
Please note that the interview concludes with a paid promotional pitch, and Grusch does not provide any additional comments after the pitch.
KARL NELL AT SOL 2025: A ROADMAP FOR KNOWING WHAT WE KNOW
At the SOL Foundation’s Symposium in October, retired Army Colonel Karl Nell stepped beyond the familiar question of whether UFOs/UAP are real and focused instead on something more fundamental: how we determine what qualifies as knowledge in a landscape shaped by secrecy, stigma, and deliberate disinformation.
Drawing from philosophy, legal standards of evidence, and a substantial record of government documentation, Nell argued that the UAP issue has already met serious evidentiary thresholds.
In his view, the remaining obstacle is not a lack of proof but a lack of political accountability.
Nell’s presentation served as a timely reminder that disclosure is not about sensational claims, but about process, standards, and responsibility.
If the evidence is sufficient to justify government action, then the path forward is clear. What is needed now is transparent oversight with enforceable accountability, not continued delay or deflection.

Congressman Burlison on UFOs and Government Accountability
January 24, 2026
In this episode of John Solomon Reports, we dive into a week of notable developments in Washington, including historic bipartisan progress as Congress successfully passes all 12 appropriations bills for the first time in two decades.
This shift towards regular budgeting practices signals a potential end to government shutdowns, marking a significant cultural change in how fiscal matters are handled.
Congressman Eric Burlison from Missouri joins us to discuss a variety of pressing issues, including his intriguing work on a UFO disclosure project.
He shares his insights on the unexplained flying objects observed around military bases, emphasizing the need for transparency and investigation into these phenomena.
Additionally, Burlison addresses the important topic of weaponization within the U.S. government, shedding light on efforts to curb such practices.
We also welcome Mark Morgan, former Commissioner of U.S. Customs and Border Protection, who brings a wealth of experience to the table.
Morgan discusses innovative strategies for enhancing deportation operations, building on the historic 2.5 million deportations that took place recently.
His proposals aim to expedite the process and alleviate the strain on our immigration system.
In the final segment, investigative reporter John Sommer joins us to raise awareness about the growing threat of home title theft and the cybercriminals targeting homeowners.
Together, we explore the alarming trends in this area and provide crucial information on how to protect your property through our partnership with Home Title Lock.

Congress Wants Answers on RECENT Nuclear Site UFO Sightings
January 24, 2026
UFOs are watching our nuclear sites. According to Pentagon data released in late 2024, the All-domain Anomaly Resolution Office (AARO) documented 18 separate instances of unidentified objects flying over U.S. nuclear weapons infrastructure. Hundreds of cases remain unexplained.
The pattern extends beyond military sites. Documents obtained by The Black Vault through a Freedom of Information Act request reveal the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission recorded a surge of drone incursions over sensitive nuclear installations from 2022 through 2024.
In December 2024 alone, sightings nearly doubled within a single week at facilities including Oyster Creek, Salem, and Hope Creek Nuclear Generating Stations in New Jersey.
The trend continued into 2025. According to CBS Minnesota, on January 8, 2025, staff at Prairie Island Nuclear Plant reported four to five drones flying around the facility.
Officers confirmed seeing two drones but were unable to identify the operators. The incident is not under active investigation.
In Wyoming, officials with the Sweetwater County Sheriff’s Office have recorded drone-like objects circling the Jim Bridger Power Plant for over 13 months, according to AOL News.
Sheriff John Grossnickle enlisted help from U.S. Representative Harriet Hageman, who reportedly witnessed the formations herself. “We’ve done everything we can to figure out what they are, and nobody wants to give us any answers,” spokesperson Jason Mower stated.
This is not limited to the United States. According to Newsweek, Russian authorities sounded an alert at the Leningrad nuclear power plant in April 2023 after detecting an unidentified object moving at 124 miles per hour.
Officials suggested it might be a weather balloon but never confirmed an explanation.
A peer-reviewed study published in Nature’s Scientific Reports, and mentioned on Fox News in October 2025 adds historical context.
Researchers at Palomar Observatory found that mysterious transient objects were 45 percent more likely to appear within 24 hours of nuclear weapons tests conducted between 1949 and 1957 — before any satellites existed. Lead researcher Dr. Beatriz Villarroel stated she could find “no other consistent explanation than that we are looking at something artificial.”

Creating an Atlas of Unidentified Flying Objects
Jan 22, 2026
Andy McGrillen’s interest in UFOs began as a 10-year-old when he and a small group witnessed a remarkable UFO sighting in Scotland.
In 2020, he began “That UFO Podcast” and to date has interviewed over 200 experiencers, whistleblowers and researchers, with direct knowledge of UFOs.
His first book, Atlas of Unidentified Flying Objects gives a panoramic view of what is happening in the UFO field by analyzing historical UFO sightings, crash retrieval operations and select ET experiencers.
In this interview with Dr. Michael Salla, they discuss US Congressional Hearings, the importance of David Grusch’s UFO revelations, prospects of a future disclosure announcement by President Donald Trump, impact of the Age of Disclosure documentary and Dr. Steven Greer’s reaction , and the role of the media in preparing the general public for a future official disclosure announcement that reveals humanity is not alone.
