thanks anon, kind of what I figured. Appreciate you getting my back. check this out. at around 1:15 in the top left corner next to Tommy Lee Jones head you will see two birds fly across the screen and then vanish. They are in a direct path towards the twin towers.

follow the sequence very carefully. the two birds enter the scene and fly towards the twin towers. They fly behind Tommy Lee's head and then you see them vanish behind the alien. Right after they vanish the baby alien is popped out. K and Reggie then walk over to see the new baby alien. You see the statue of liberty briefly(represents freedom right?) but then Reggie(the dad alien) blocks it out. Symbolism much?
