I like Kimchi, but Vegan Kimchi is horrible actually. You'd think it would be great, but it's not. I think it's because Vegans leave out the fermented anchovies or shrimp or whatever it is the Koreans put in their Kimchi. Whatever it is, Korean recipe Kimchi is by far superior in flavor than Vegan style Kimchi. And all that Vegan hot dogs and shitโ€ฆforget it! Vegan Luncheon "meat"? Fucking horrible shit! And don't get me started on Tofu ffs! All that Vegan stuff people instinctively know it's actually worse for your body than if you just ate actual MEAT! In my younger years I tried all that shit, I even tried this Vegan Sour Creamโ€ฆand it actually wasn't too bad, but then I read the ingredients: HYDROGENATED SOYBEAN OIL! That's what made the "sour cream" so creamy! So, I don't ever consider anything out of the Vegan section anymore (unless it's the guacamole, and I read the ingredients to make sure it's just avocados, salt, and spices).

That's the freeze dried Kimchi in a capsule, I think. Never tried it. I don't mind actual Kimchi, and I plan on fermenting batches myself (as it's cheaper than paying $12-$15 for a small jar of it). And the capsules are very expensive.

In the mean time, I still got plenty of homemade sauerkraut; but for whatever reason Kimchi has the ability to go deeper into your digestive tract than other ferments, and that's what those old Russians by Chernobyl were taking that the old Soviets left behind. Some type of probiotic pills, and these villagers were unaffected by the radiation and were living into their 100's.

The problem with most probiotic food is that it has to make it through a person's stomach without being killed off, so very little of the probiotic gets into the small intestine. That's why encapsulated probiotics work better and for some reason Kimchi.
