You're conflating three separate events reported on in that video. The WSJ tidbit was a flashback to when Xi first named his picks for top military positions. The person escorted out was Hu Jintao, because he wanted to see Xi's choices, which had been kept secret until the meeting.

Many people save for their future, anticipating their savings will be enough to support them in their dotage. Along the way, inflation happens, eroding their purchasing power and pushing their planned retirement date out ever further. At some point their health won't allow them to work as they once did, and they're forced to retire, either accepting taxpayer handouts (SS) or subsisting on cat food and the kindness of strangers. As a society, We the People need to invent a better way to respect our seniors and allow them to wither away with dignity.
