Under Israeli Strikes, Hezbollah Vows To Fight With Iran In Next War

Hezbollah Secretary-General Naim Qassem said on January 26 that any attack on Iran would also target Lebanon, and warned that any new war on its backer would ignite the region.

The United States has been threatening the Islamic Republic since the start of the month over a wave of violent protests, and in recent days it reinforced its forces in the Middle East with an aircraft carrier in addition to many other military assets.

“Faced with aggression that does not distinguish between us… we are targeted by any potential aggression and determined to defend ourselves,” Qassem said in a televised address to supporters at a solidarity rally for the Iranian regime.

“We will choose at that time how to act… but we are not neutral,” he added, warning that “a war on Iran this time will ignite the region.”

Qassem also revealed mediators had told the group the U.S. and Israel were considering hitting Hezbollah in case there was an attack on Iran.

The remarks came just a day after a wave of intense Israeli strikes that hit targets of Hezbollah in several parts of Lebanon.

According to the Israeli military, one of the strikes targeted a group of Hezbollah operatives at a weapon manufacturing site in southern Lebanon, killing one, whom it named as Jawad Basma. In a separate strike in the country’s eastern Beqaa Valley, the military said it struck other military infrastructure of the group.

Another strike killed a Hezbollah artillery commander, Muhammad al-Husseini, who also worked as a school teacher, the Israeli military said.

'Not on My Bingo Card': Israeli Goes Viral After Fake Report of Death at Iran Protest

Noya Zion initially laughed about the incident on Instagram but later told Israel's Channel 12 News that it was 'not funny at all,' while her father labeled the outlet a 'channel of fools,' which has since apologized

A young Israeli woman found herself in a surreal situation Sunday after an Israeli news channel reported she was one of four Jews killed during the recent wave of protests in Iran.

Channel 12 broadcast a photo on Sunday of Noya Zion under the headline, "Report: Four Jews killed during Iran protests."

Zion published a video showing the mistake on her Instagram page, with the caption, "This wasn't on my bingo card for 2026, or at all," adding, "This isn't something I ever thought would happen to me."

"I'm at home, okay? I need to go work out in half an hour, guys, what's happening?" she adds.

After the video went viral on Instagram, Zion gave an interview to Channel 12's morning show and said that while the video she posted was humorous, the situation itself "isn't funny at all. I was very alarmed, it was very weird," she said. "It got to the point where a relative of mine didn't want to call my parents because she refused to believe it was real."

Zion, a photographer who creates social media content, said she has no relation to Iran or the protests in the country. The picture shown in the report was taken from her own personal Instagram page.

Zion says she is trying to take the situation in stride."This is kind of what happened to Ross in 'Friends,'" she said, referring to a 2003 episode of the show in which the character portrayed by David Schwimmer fakes his own death to see who among his former classmates would show up to the memorial service.

Zion told Channel 12 that the incident is a teachable moment. "I feel like it's important to say to whoever is exposed to this story, both viewers and journalists, we need to be aware of what kind of content we're consuming," she said, adding that consuming media critically was crucial in the era of social media and AI.
