(D-NY) have penned a letter to President Trump in which they urge him to take up immigration reform, telling him his success at securing the border is being overshadowed by controversial interior enforcement.
Specifically, they pitch the following legislation:
1) Codify Trump’s executive orders that have secured the border.
2) Fix broken asylum system.
3) Provide legal protection to “millions of immigrants”.
4) Mandate federal agents only take actions for which they are thoroughly trained in & urge local law enforcement to cooperate on public safety threats.
5) Require all federal law enforcement involved in shootings must be subject to a “thorough independent investigation.”
