The Quebec College of Physicians is on the record promoting euthanasia for babies, and Health Canada has been funding a research project that discusses possibly euthanizing children with autism.

Canada could be one step closer to allowing euthanasia, or so-called “Medical Assistance in Dying” (MAID), as it’s known, for newborns, should a provincial medical college get its way.

The Quebec College of Physicians is on record suggesting that “medical assistance in dying may be an appropriate treatment for babies suffering from extreme pain.”

The College added that “parents should have the opportunity to obtain this care for their infant.”

Allowing euthanasia for newborns is not a new idea in Canada. In 2022, a Quebec College of Physicians member, Louis Roy, said at a Special Joint Committee on Medical Assistance in Dying that the procedure could be allowed for “babies from birth to one year of age” who have severe deformities or disabilities.

At the time, even the radical-left governmental then-Liberal Disabilities Minister Carla Qualtrough said there is “no world where I would accept that.” Continue…

The father of the Tumbler Ridge shooter who killed eight on Tuesday has said that his son never went by the name given out by authorities. During a press conference on Wednesday, RCMP officials said the shooter was 18-year-old Jesse Van Rootselaar.

His father, Justin Van Rootselaar, told Juno News that his son never went by that name, and instead went by Jesse Strang. He said that his son’s passport did not have the name Van Rootselaar on it, and requested that the RCMP clarify the shooter’s name. The 12-year-old girl who was critically injured in Tuesday’s mass shooting in Tumbler Ridge, British Columbia has made progress in her recovery, her mother has revealed. The GoFundMe set up in the wake of the shooting to support the girl's recovery has received over $296,000.

Cia Edmund, the mother of Maya, said in an update on Thursday afternoon, "Day of recovery. Shes moved!!. Its stimulus, a kick, a hand move, but its something!!. Its truely something new in almost 48 hours. Keep up the positive vibes." She urged people for their continued prayers for her daughter.

She added, "We need to know this isn't it. She will continue to improve despite those opinions. We will also be having a fresh look with a second opinion. We are so incredibly grateful for the outpour of support literally around the world!. We still hold strong for the families who arent so fortunate. Pray for our community. Pray for support. Pray for healing. Pray that all the young minds that are forced to live in memories, that they l can to grieve and eventually move forward with their heads held so high. We love you, and we are thinking about all of you from the ICU."

This comes after an update issued on Wednesday said, "We need a miracle," and that "our amazing team believes she can’t possibly make it" but" we wait, and we keep hoping." She underwent surgery soon after the shooting that took place on Tuesday afternoon.

Eight people were killed and dozens more were injured after a shooter, identified as Jesse Van Rootselaar, also known as Jesse Strang, opened fire. Authorities said the shooting began at a residential home, with the shooter killing his mother and brother. He then moved to Tumbler Ridge Secondary School, where six people were killed. The gunman is also dead.

RCMP officer involved in Okotoks shooting, suspect injured

An Okotoks RCMP officer discharged their service pistol during a police confrontation on Patterson Road on Wednesday, leaving a male suspect injured but expected to recover, authorities confirmed.

Police were called at 2:06 p.m. for a well-being check outside a residence.

Upon arrival, officers began communicating with the man, but a confrontation ensued that resulted in an officer firing their weapon.

Additional units, including the Alberta RCMP Emergency Response Team, were deployed.

Negotiators eventually secured the suspect’s surrender, and he was transported to hospital with injuries.

The Alberta Serious Incident Response Team (ASIRT) has been directed to independently investigate the officer-involved shooting.

ASIRT is responsible for reviewing the circumstances of police actions, while the RCMP has launched its own internal review examining training, policy, police response, and the duty status of the member involved.

The Chinese regime has established a global network of organizations linked to its United Front system, which it uses to advance its agenda abroad, including at least 575 such groups in Canada, a new report says.

The Chinese Communist Party (CCP) has built a network of more than 2,000 overseas organizations across Canada, the United States, the United Kingdom, and Germany, according to the Feb. 11 report from U.S. think tank The Jamestown Foundation.

The report, titled, “Harnessing the People: Mapping Overseas United Front Work in Democratic States,” was written by China expert and Jamestown fellow Cheryl Yu. Yu announced the report’s findings at a Feb. 11 press conference on Parliament Hill held by The Jamestown Foundation and Macdonald-Laurier Institute (MLI).

Yu noted the CCP aims to influence democratic societies through its United Front Work Department (UFWD), which she characterized as “the Party’s weapon that it uses to expand control and influence without force.”

“The Party uses the system to shape political, social, and economic environments in ways that serve the Party’s goal, which is becoming the dominant global power and advancing claims such as the annexation of Taiwan,” she said.

Canada has the second-largest network of organizations tied to China’s UFWD after the United States, but the highest density, with at least 575 groups for a population of roughly 40 million, Yu said. Continue…
