Honestly I have no idea what I'm talking about. I just know a bit about computer hardware so it makes sense metal prices are going up. Gold is a really good conductor. They used to plate some of the USB on gaming keyboards and mice but they don't anymore I noticed; prob because of the increased gold prices.
Actually I got a technical 2 year diploma in computer engineering but none of it matters since design and paradigm change drastically every 3 months. What doesn't change though is what materials the computers are made out of.
