A biased narrative of the Pretti shooting that nonetheless shows a close angle of the event (prefaced, unfortunately for them, by both Noem and Bovino making truth-challenged statements before all the facts were out) followed by a slowed-down version of the shooting from various angles is found at the NYT link below.
Notice, though, that in one of the stills appended here, Pretti's right hand is clearly reaching back to where his gun had been holstered, only to find he had been disarmed - which happened split seconds earlier. Gun shots are concentrated just before, during and immediately after this reach to the holster. The narrator falsely states: "Both of his arms are clearly on the ground in front of him at this moment" - when he is shot. In fact, his right arm is, by all appearances, reaching for where he believed his gun was. He had objects in both hands. This narrator says glasses in one hand and phone in the other. Another narrator believes that he may have retrieved a clip from his holster when he was going for his gun. Regardless, it all happened very fast and several officers are searching around his body asking, "Where is the f'ing gun? Where is the gun?"
The man in the grey jacket then declares that he has the wounded/dead man's gun. So, clearly, not all of the agents in the scuffle realized that one of their own had pulled the protestor's gun away from his holster at the same time a number of them were yelling, "Gun, Gun, Gun."
Also, before he was sprayed, presumably with pepper spray, on the sidewalk, Pretti put his hands on a federal agent who was engaged with another protestor (one who had been harassing the group of agents with interruptions, shouting, shrill whistle blowing, ignoring commands to get off the street, coming back into the street after being pushed off the street, etc.
A still is attached of Pretti's hands clearly on the agent - interfering with that agent's focus on the woman who refused to comply with commands. [Other biased clips show him with his hand in the air while he is being sprayed, but you can see here that Pretti only threw his hand up in the air after he put his hands on the agent, apparently trying to separate the agent from the interfering woman the agent was after.]
