Jamie Heywood (born 4 October 1966, London, England) is an American MIT mechanical engineer and biotech entrepreneur. He founded the ALS Therapy Development Institute (ALS TDI) in 1999 with his family after his younger brother Stephen Heywood was diagnosed with ALS. ALS TDI became the world’s first non-profit biotechnology company, pioneering an industrialized approach to drug discovery.
