Actually an NYC resident and from what I've personally witnessed and experienced, taking into consideration that I refuse to drive anything on wheels, because we have the BEST public transportation systems in all of the country; the Department of Health & Human Services / Sanitation busts their asses keeping my home city as clean as humanly + practically possible. Even the street-sweepers are dedicated to their expertise, and it's taken very seriously. With alternate side parking, three different kinds of collection bin variants, food scraps being harvested for composting purposes that any New Yorker can actually go and purchase by the pound! Scraps for synthesis! I like it. Why bother with gas, even though #POTUS before he was wrongfully forced to leave his post at the tragic end of 2020, had gotten the average price for a gallon of gasoline down to $1.87! It's $3 for a one-way ride on the subway, and if you transfer to a bus, it's free, as long as it's not on the same route, or something…
If you are lucky enough to be able to afford private housing, where you are responsible to handle your homes' curb etiquette; it does in fact reflect a sense of cleanliness and orderly pride that you can just feel when you stroll through the more non-unkempt and diligently upkept blocks here in #TheBigApple!
It's an exaggeration, that albeit is true; but doesn't capture the hard work and cooperative efforts that are being executed when New York City gets itself right out the gate!
