Do you know why so many Arab countries are rushing to try and avoid a U.S. war against Iran ? Even those who have previously seen the Islamic Republic as an adversary ?

On the surface you hear concerns about collateral damage and energy supply instability. Underneath, there is an even deeper concern.

Zoroastrianism is widely considered the ancestral, pre-Islamic religion of the Kurds and Iranians (Persians). Many Iranians would now reject Islam if the regime was overthrown. That would in turn encourage the Kurds, some of whom are also rejecting Islam because of persecution, to seek their own autonomy or full national independence. Israel, of course, is already a non-Islamic State.

A domino effect could see many indigenous, ethnic groups seeking to establish rights or break away from fundamentalist Islamic rule and identity. This could potentially amount to a full scale re-ordering of power structures, and that is not an idea that suits the ruling families of the region.
