Gas has come way down but should still be lower. Our electric bill last summer was almost as much as our fucking mortgage. Got the republican controlled Georgia PSC to thank for that as they allowed Georgia Power to off load 10 billion of the 12 billion dollars they pissed away in cost overruns at Plant Vogal, on the backs of their customers. There's a lot to that anon. Many of these young people can't buy a home because they've given in to instant gratification. Credit card debt out the ass. Student loan debt. Uber eats every fucking night. On and on.

I never handled my finances like that and no matter the amount of money I was making at any given time in my life, I was always able to save. If I wanted something and didn't have the money for it, I saved my money until I could buy it. Not that hard to do if you keep on top it.
