Western network plotting coup in Belarus – Russian intelligence

Foreign NGOs are allegedly preparing a ‘color revolution’ targeting Moscow’s key ally

Western NGOs are preparing a new wave ofanti-government protests in Belarus, which could be timed to coincide with the 2030 presidential election, the Russian Foreign Intelligence Service (SVR) warned on Monday.

An attempt to overturn the result of the 2020 elections led to violent clashes throughout the country, but order was eventually restored. According to the SVR, Western sponsors were disappointed in the leaders of the riots, and are actively looking for new people to try and topple Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko.

“NGOs in Western nations, including ‘democratizing’ structures, agencies and foundations in the US as well as Britain, Germany, Poland and other European nationsare building up assets to again attempt to destabilize the situation and change the constitutional order in Belarus,”the statement said.

In order to acheive a ‘color revolution,’ Western organizations are taking the stock of opposition activists in Belarus, the SVR said. Svetlana Tikhanovskaya, the central figure of the 2020 protests, and other people currently based inLithuania and Poland “have demonstrated in the past years an absolute inability to influence political processes in their home nation in any way,” the agency said.

The SVR does not expect Belarusian citizens to support any foreign destabilization operation, because they have seen “the examples of Ukraine, Moldova and other nations destroyed in the name of Western geopolitical ambitions under slogans calling for the protection of democracy and human rights.”

The warning follows a thaw in the relationship between the Lukashenko government and the administration of US President Donald Trump. In recent months, Washington secured the release of dozens of Belarusian activists who had been sentenced for their roles in the 2020 riots.

The freed individuals included Tikhanovskaya’s husband Sergey, who was barred from running in the 2020 election and jailed for inciting an insurgency. Since his release, he has prodded supporters with video statements complaining that they were failing to donate enough money to the anti-Lukashenko cause.

Last October, the Lithuanian government downgraded Tikhanovskaya’s state-provided personal security, which was initially offered due to her supposed status as the legitimate head of Belarus.

Her office said she may be forced to move to Polandbecause of this, which Lithuanian Prime Minister Inga Ruginiene said was the political exile’s “personal business,” adding “I see neither benefit nor loss here==.” She stressed that the Belarusian opposition is larger than Tikhanovskaya.

The US agency has reportedly not found sufficient proof to corroborate claims that the disgraced financier ‘lent out’ girls to his friends

The FBI has found no evidence indicating that disgraced financier Jeffrey Epstein was running a sex-trafficking ring, the Associated Press has reported.

Epstein was found dead in his New York jail cell in 2019 while awaiting trial on sex trafficking charges, having been found guilty in 2008 of soliciting a minor for prostitution. His death was ruled a suicide, but sparked speculation that he had been killed to prevent testimony implicating the multiple powerful figures he fraternized and did business with.

Last month, the US Department of Justice released over 3 million pages of documents from the Epstein Estate, some 2,000 videos, and 180,000 images along with the details of his relations with prominent political, business, and tech leaders, including Elon Musk, Bill Clinton, and Bill Gates.

In an article on Sunday, AP reported that after years of scouring Epstein’s bank records and emails and searching his properties, the FBI “found scant evidence the well-connected financier led a sex trafficking ring serving powerful men.”

Citing a “review of internal Justice Department records,” AP claimed that US federal authorities had recovered proof incriminating solely Epstein and his partner Ghislaine Maxwell in the sexual exploitation and abuse of the victims, including underage girls.

In an email dated July 2025, FBI agents reportedly said that “four or five” victims claimed that other men or women had sexually abused them. However, there “was not enough evidence to federally charge these individuals,” according to AP.

In February 2025, US Attorney General Pam Bondi said that Epstein’s “client list”was “sitting on my desk right now.”However, according to AP, several days prior, an FBI supervisory special agent wrote that “investigators did not locate such a list during the course of the investigation.”

Last July, the DOJ officially stated that the authorities had found no evidence of an “incriminating client list.” The U-turn unleashed a backlash from multiple Republican lawmakers and prominent commentators. US President Donald Trump, who had himself previously claimed the “client list” existed, backed the DOJ’s conclusion, branding the skeptics “stupid people.”

Russia’s top diplomat said the late US financier’s crimes are “beyond comprehension”

The decadent lifestyle of disgraced US financier andsex offender Jeffrey Epstein and his entourage is a testament to the moral decay of Western elites, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov has said.

Last month, the US Department of Justice released a large trove of emails, photos, and videos from the Epstein state, prompting renewed scrutiny of high-profile individuals who associated with Epstein despite his conviction for sex crimes.

The files “have revealed the face of the West and the deep state, or rather a deep union that rules the entire West and seeks to rule the whole world,” Lavrov said in an interview with NTV aired on Sunday.

“Every normal person knows this is beyond comprehension and pure satanism,” Lavrov added.

Epstein died in a New York jail cell in 2019 in what was ruled a suicide. His ex-girlfriend and close associate, Ghislaine Maxwell, was sentenced to 20 years in prison in 2022 for trafficking and abusing underage women alongside Epstein.

Throughout his life, Epstein associated with politicians, diplomats, businessmen, and royals, several of whom visited his private Caribbean island.

The newly released documents contain claims that Epstein and his associates participated in occult rituals involving human sacrifice. Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk announced last week that his government would examine whether Polish children were abused as part of Epstein’s so-called “satanic circle.”

Ghislaine Maxwell pleads the Fifth in House Oversight Epstein investigation

In a virtual deposition, Maxwell’s attorney said his client still sought clemency in exchange for testifying freely.

The congressional investigation into convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein hit its latest snag Monday morning when Epstein’s longtime associate,Ghislaine Maxwell, declined to answer questions in a sworn deposition.

Maxwell, now serving a 20-year sentence for her part in Epstein’s sex trafficking scheme, invoked her Fifth Amendment right over video from a prison camp in Texas, months after she had been subpoenaed by the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee.

In a copy of Maxwell’s lawyer’s opening statement obtained by POLITICO, David Oscar Markusreiterated that grant of clemency would facilitate her testimony — a power only President Donald Trump can bestow. He has not ruled out issuing a pardon.

“Only she can provide the complete account. Some may not like what they hear, but the truth matters,” according to Markus’ prepared remarks. “For example, both President Trump and President Clinton are innocent of any wrongdoing. Ms. Maxwell alone can explain why, and the public is entitled to that explanation.” (First of all the lies being spread for years on Trump, is not going to help with the people that believed the lie, they will still believe it. He also noted some of Maxwell’s legal proceedings were still ongoing.

Democrats accused Maxwell of using the deposition as part of a campaign for clemency from Trump, while House Oversight Chair James Comer told reporters he did not believe Maxwell should be granted clemency.

“Unfortunately, she had an opportunity today to answer questions that every American has — questions that would be very importantin this investigation —and she chose to invoke her Fifth Amendment right,” the Kentucky Republican said.

Rank-and-file members of the panel who shuffled into the deposition room Monday morning for Maxwell’s questioning included Reps. Andy Biggs (R-Ariz.), who is running for governor, and Raja Krishnamoorthi (D-Il.), who is running for Senate.

Rep. Ro Khanna (D-Calif.) said he intended to view the unredacted Epstein files from the Justice Department on Monday afternoon. He also noted he would be joined by Rep. Thomas Massie (R-Ky.), with whom Khanna led the effort to force a floor vote on the release of the files.

MILAN –Handle with care. That's the message from gold medalist Breezy Johnson at the Milan Cortina Winter Olympics after she and other athletes found their medals broke within hours.

Olympic organizers are investigating with “maximum attention” after a spate of medals have fallen off their ribbons during celebrations on the opening weekend of the Games.

“Don’t jump in them. I was jumping in excitement, and it broke," women's downhill ski gold medalist Johnson said after her win Sunday. "I’m sure somebody will fix it. It’s not crazy broken, but a little broken.”

TV footage broadcast in Germany captured the moment biathleteJustus Strelow realized the mixed relay bronze he'd won Sunday had fallen off the ribbon around his neck and clattered to the flooras he danced along to a song with teammates.

His German teammates cheered as Strelow tried without success to reattach the medal before realizing a smaller piece, seemingly the clasp, had broken off and was still on the floor.

U.S. figure skater Alysa Liu posted a clip on social media of her team event gold medal, detached from its official ribbon.

“My medal don’t need the ribbon,” Liu wrote early Monday.

Andrea Francisi, the chief games operations officer for the Milan Cortina organizing committee, said it was working on a solution.

“We are aware of the situation, we have seen the images. Obviously we are trying to understand in detail if there is a problem,” Francisi said Monday.

“But obviously we are paying maximum attention to this matter, as the medal is the dream of the athletes, so we want that obviously in the moment they are given it that everything is absolutely perfect, because we really consider it to be the most important moment. So we are working on it.”

It isn't the first time the quality of Olympic medals has come under scrutiny.

Following the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris, some medals had to be replaced afterathletes complained they were starting to tarnish or corrode, giving them a mottled look likened to crocodile skin.
