That is not true. Thomas Jefferson had a 30+ year relationship, till his death, with his slave Sally Hemmings. They had six children and Jefferson personally saw they were all well educated. Which was frowned upon in those days. His Last Will & Testament freed them all and he provided for Sally to live on his estate and be taken care of for the rest of her life.
