Assuming we can trust Fox News, this actually sounds like behavior that deserves to be legally sanctioned.

That said:

1) Such cases divert attention from much more serious abuse of children cases (children as in both teenagers and younger)

2) While this guy made a serious moral error, he can clearly recover from this and live a (morally) good life, but excessive extra-legal sanctions gravely undermine this possibility

3) While this guy was clearly in the wrong, hyping up this sort of story has a very widespread inhibitory effect on any many who might even think of making any sort of romantic approach to any objectively or relatively young woman, and this is very bad for civilization.
