I blame academia to an extent and their financiers.

You take a bunch of people and sell them education.

then you sell them the highest form of intellect is to be a professor.

English literature is not a skill, it's a party conversation. To make it a job, they have to pursue a PhD.

Now, they've turned a party trick talent (longwinded discussions on Chaucer) into a $60K debt …and a job if there is a University willing to pay. But hey, we'll hire you at $12 / hr to adjunct for us….

Now, Doctor is living at home, driving mom's 14 year old Honda civic to his adjunct role when he could be making double as the janitor.

Department head tells him, well, the way to get tenureship is you have to be published.

So, f*ck up on his commute calls a publisher and asks, "how do i get published?"

22 year old Communications major making $55K / year tells him, " you have to have a unique or different perspective on something….and be able to clearly communicate that with appropriate sourcing"

So, f*ck up driving mom's Civic stews on that and decides he's gonna write how Chaucer was a Jew. And because everyone hates Chaucer, all the evils of humanity are because Chaucer was a Jew.

F*ck up submits to big publishing houses and each time, Ilana, Dana Rebecca and Jody answer the phone and tell him no, he feels more and more desperate.

Then he finds some Chinese guy who says, yea, "I'll publish for $500 up front, that will get you 75 books"

F*ck up goes to mom and begs for another $500 dollars to pay said Chinese guy and tada he's published.

F*ck up is an intellectual and because Bob got caught fucking teenagers on his daughters softball team, there's an opening in the English Dept.

And that is how "Academics" become "Academics"

And subsequently how education get's fucked up.
