Religion is a sketchy word, I think in modern language it's more of a doctrine. Doctrine generally forms into a culture of laws and traditions. Christian doctrine ingrains itself and is generally what you see as your laws, and traditions such as Christmas and Easter in the west.
The same way Muslim doctrine ingrains itself into culture as Sharia law.
So if the West is declining that means Christian doctrine is eroding therefore.
