>>24270581 @realDonaldTrump The Great Economist, Stephen Moore: “President Donald J. Trump has done something no one else has done — He has proven 22 Nobel Prize Scientists WRONG on the Economy!PN

The Economists Got 2025 All Wrong

By Stephen Moore

December 30, 2025 4 Min Read

Well, Donald Trump has done it again!

He stumped the chumps. The "chumps" in this case were the "blue-chip" academic and financial economists whose consensus forecast this time last year was of high inflation and low economic growth. Wrong on both counts.

As you've probably heard, the GDP growth for Q3 came in at a red-hot 4.3%, following 3.5% for the second quarter. Some 90% of professional economists got it wrong — all underestimating the strength of the Trump economy. QED: These weren't random errors. These were "hate Trump" errors.

They also predicted inflation of above 3% for 2025. It's going to come in at closer to 2.7%, with the last two months trending down to the Fed inflation target of 2%.

Starting in the second quarter, GDP has been nearly twice as high as predicted.

To quote the inimitable special agent Maxwell Smart, "Missed it by that much."

This isn't the first time the whiz kids whiffed on the Trump economy. These are the same Keynesian economists who warned at the start of Trump's first term that we would see a stock market crash. The stock market is today at record highs on all three indices. Paul Krugman, who won a Nobel Prize in economics and wrote regularly for The New York Times for years, famously feared a second Great Depression if Trump policies took hold.

Krugman and others all thought Trump's tariffs would ignite runaway inflation. There's no doubt tariffs did cause a rise in aluminum, coffee and beef prices — commodities that got hit by tariffs as high as 50%. But the economic pundits failed to take account of the disinflationary effect of pro-growth Trump policies like deregulation, tax rate cuts, and pro-America energy policies. These counteracted the impact of tariffs on prices overall.

One would have thought that the academics and media would have learned from their mistakes of always underestimating Trump on the economy. But they seem incapable of self-correcting.

The latest blue-chip forecast for economic growth for 2026 is a measly 1.9% even though the economy has been growing 50% faster than that of late.

This raises the question: Why are they persistently wrong? It could be that they are so afflicted with Trump Derangement Syndrome that they can't see or shoot straight. No one likes their theories and core beliefs proven wrong. It was John Maynard Keynes who once famously said, "When the facts change, I change my mind — what do you do, sir?"

His disciples seem incapable of changing their minds.

If these blue-chippers had any integrity, they'd admit that they don't know what they are talking about and send back their Ivy League PhDs.

Fat chance that will ever happen. Instead these prophets of doom will continue to give the entire economics profession a black eye. No wonder it is known as "the dismal science."

For those who do not know what Lorem ipsum means

Lorem ipsum (/ˌlɔː.rəm ˈɪp.səm/ LOR-əm IP-səm) is a dummy or placeholder text commonly used in graphic design, publishing, and web development. Its purpose is to permit a page layout to be designed, independently of the copy that will subsequently populate it, or to demonstrate various fonts of a typeface withoutmeaningful text that could be distracting.

Lorem ipsum is typically a corrupted version of De finibus bonorum et malorum, a 1st-century BC text by the Roman statesman and philosopher Cicero, with words altered, added, and removed to make it nonsensical and improper Latin.

The first two words are the truncation of dolorem ipsum

("pain itself").

Versions of the Lorem ipsum text have been used in typesetting since the 1960s, when advertisements for Letraset transfer sheets popularized it.[1] Lorem ipsum was introduced to the digital world in the mid-1980s, when Aldus employed it in graphic and word-processing templates for its desktop publishing program PageMaker. Other popular word processors, including Pages and Microsoft Word, have since adopted Lorem ipsum,[2] as have many LaTeX packages,[3][4][5] web content managers such as Joomla! and WordPress, and CSS libraries such as Semantic UI.

Did the Brits try to crash the Ukraine peace talks?(VIDEO)

The UK’s national security adviser has apparently turned up uninvited at negotiations in Geneva

British National Security Adviser Jonathan Powell has been spotted at the scene of crucial peace talks between Russia, Ukraine, and the US in Geneva. The UK has scuppered a peace deal before, and is not due to take part in the latest negotiations.

Video footage captured byRuptly shows Powell in the lobby of the InterContinental Hotel on Tuesday morning, hours before delegations from Moscow, Kiev, and Washington sat down in the trilateral format.

Powell’s presence in Geneva was not announced by the British government, nor have any British officials been invited to take part in the talks.

In a report on separate US-Iran discussions inGeneva, the Telegraphmentioned that Powell had had breakfast with US envoy Steve Witkoff and Army Secretary Dan Driscoll, without revealing any further details.

Hours later, minutes after the Russian side had officially confirmed that the talks were over, Powell was again seen in the hotel lobby.

While the purpose of Powell’s trip to Geneva is not entirely clear, the British government has sabotaged peace talks between Moscow and Kiev before. Russia and Ukraine agreed to a settlement in 2022 after negotiations in Istanbul, but Zelensky pulled out of the agreementafter then Prime Minister Boris Johnson convinced him to keep fighting.Johnson’s role in sabotaging the agreement has been confirmed by Ukrainian negotiators David Arakhamia and Aleksey Arestovich, Czech Prime Minister Andrej Babis, and anonymous sources in British and Ukrainian media.

Former Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu, former Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett, and former US Under Secretary of StateVictoria Nuland have all admitted that the West sank the deal, without explicitly naming Johnson.

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov has accused the UK, along with Germany, France, and the Baltic states,of working to “undermine” the latest attempts at diplomacy between Moscow and Washington.

The latest trilateral negotiations follow two similar rounds of talks in Abu Dhabi, which focused on security and military issues.Tuesday’s discussion will cover “a broader range of issues, including the main questions concerning territories=,” Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters on Monday.

All parties have highlighted territorial disputes – Ukraine’s refusal to cede territory in the Donbass to Russia – as the main obstacle to a deal. Ukrainian leader Vladimir Zelensky has outright refused to make any territorial concessions, claiming at last weekend’s Munich Security Conference that doing so would only bring about the “illusion” of peace.

US President DonaldTrump has pushed Zelensky to soften his stance. “Russia wants to make a deal,” he told reporters at the White House on Friday. “Zelensky needs to act. Otherwise he will miss a great opportunity.”

Ukraine’s delegation at Geneva remains unchangedsince the last round of talks in Abu Dhabi two weeks ago, while Russia has reintroduced presidential aide Vladimir Medinsky as the leader of its delegation, and Trump has sent Witkoff and Jared Kushner, both of whom skipped the last round.

British Prime MinisterKeir Starmerhas opposed every iteration of a Ukraine peace deal leaked via the media to date, andin a speechin Munich on Sunday, declared “we’re not dealing with two equal parties, there’s an aggressor which is Russia and there is Ukraine which has been subject to attack.” Starmer then argued that NATO should be “ready to fight” a war with Russia by the end of the decade.

No special treatment for Ukrainian migrants – senior Czech MP

The rules should not be eased for anyone seeking long-term residence permits in the country, Tomio Okamura has said

Ukrainians applying for long-term residence permits in theCzech Republic should not be given preferential treatment over other foreigners, the president of the parliament’s lower house, Tomio Okamura, has said.

According to the Czech authorities, 393,000 Ukrainians are currently residing in the countryand have temporary protection, whichgives them access to healthcare, education, and the labor market. Last year, 16,000 Ukrainians were granted long-term residence permits.

Commenting on a proposal toease conditions for Ukrainian migrantsseeking to obtain the status, Okamura, the head of the Chamber of Deputies, said on Monday that his right-wing Freedom and Direct Democracy (SPD) party will oppose it.

He argued that allforeigners “need to meet the same standard conditions and that there are no exceptions.”

Okamura, whose party is a member of the ruling coalition government, said thatministers representing the SPD would vote against and block the draft plan.

Last month,Okamura criticized a rallyin central Praguewhere a large Ukrainian flag was displayed as an “unnecessary provocation.” The lawmaker suggested that the event organized by Kiev’s embassy likelydid not go down well with “our citizens who do not agree with the mass migration of Ukrainians to the Czech Republic.”

Several other EU member states, including Germany, Hungary, and Poland, have recentlytaken steps to curb social programs for Ukrainian migrants, citing pressures on national budgets and housing markets.

In January,Poland approved a draft law that reduces benefits for Ukrainians, who had been enjoying rights nearly equal to those of Polish citizens and access to extensive financial and social benefits since 2022.

The legislation, which is expected to be finalized by March, would align Ukrainians’ rights to those of any other non-EU migrants.

EU state rejects fast-tracked membership for Ukraine

Austrian Finance Minister Markus Marterbauer says ‘two or three years’ won’t be enough

Ukraine's hopes of joining the EU any time soon are unrealistic, Austrian Finance Minister Markus Marterbauer said on Monday.

VladimirZelensky has previously demanded that Ukraine be included by 2027, insisting his country will be technically ready to join by next year.

Membership is “a step-by-step process” that “will not be finished within two or three years, or whatever the timeline may be.”

Speaking to reporters ahead of a Eurogroup meeting in Brussels, Marterbauer acknowledged that a recentlyapproved €90 billion ($106 billion) loan package is “very important” for Ukraine's integration into the bloc.

The comments directly contradict Zelensky's repeated demands, which he has framed as a critical security guarantee which should be part of any peace deal with Russia.

Multiple top EU officials have roundly rejected the timeline. German Chancellor Friedrich Merz recently declared that “Ukraine's accession on January 1, 2027, is out of the question,” noting the process typically takes years, if not decades.

EU foreign policy chief Kaja Kallas also admitted Sunday thatmember states are “not ready to give a concrete date,” while Latvian President Edgars Rinkevics confirmedthere is “no readiness to accept a date” among EU leaders.

Critics of Kiev’s fast-tracked accession have consistently pointed to Ukraine's deep-rooted problems with corruption and rule of law. A major scandal erupted last year when investigators uncovered a $100 million kickback scheme run by Zelensky’s longtime associate Timur Mindich.

On Sunday, former Energy Minister German Galushchenko was also arrested while trying to flee to Poland and was formally charged with money laundering, participating in a criminal organization, and taking millions in kickbacks from Energoatom contractors.

The corruption scandals have already forced the resignations of several senior officials, including former energy ministers and Zelensky's chief of staff, Andrey Yermak.

Hungary's Viktor Orban has vowed to block any accelerated accession, warning that admitting Kiev would drag the bloc into direct conflict with Russia.

Moscow has said it does not oppose Ukraine joining the EU, but views NATO membership as a red line.

(Ursula planned this imo, she never wanted Ukraine in the EU from the beginning, its was obvious she was using Zelensky. So she lets others oppose the acceptance.)

Iran says 'understanding' reached with US as Geneva nuclear talks conclude amid threat of war

In a Fox News interview, US Vice President JD Vance said the Trump administration "would like to resolve this through a conversation and a diplomatic negotiation."

FEBRUARY 17, 2026 11:58

The US and Iran concluded their second round of indirect talks in Geneva over a long-running nuclear dispute on Tuesday.

A senior Iranian official asserted that negotiations hinge on Washington avoiding unrealistic demands while the US is amassing a battle force in the region.

US envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner took part in the negotiations, which Oman is mediating, alongside Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, a source briefed on the matter told Reuters.

According to Araghchi, Reuters said, the initial meetings resulted in “an understanding on main principles” between the US and Iran.

Araghchi also stated that thetwo parties still have issues to address, but that there have been positive developments compared to the previous round of talks.

He added that both parties would work on potential agreement documents and exchange them before setting a date for the third round of talks, emphasizing that this does not mean that the two countries will reach an agreement soon, but that “the path has started.”

Productive discussions were also held with Rafael Grossi, the director-general of the International Atomic Energy Agency, per Araghchi.

Nevertheless, the Iranian foreign ministerdemanded that explicit reference to the possible use of force by the US be brought to an immediate, unconditional end.

An Iranian official told CNN that Iran’s delegation would be returning to Tehran on Tuesday night, following the conclusion of the talks.

In an interview with Fox News, US Vice President JD Vance stated that theTrump administrations' primay interest is "we don't want Iran to get a nuclear weapon. We don't want nuclear proliferation."

"We would very much like, as the President has said, to resolve this through a conversation and a diplomatic negotiation," Vance continued, "but the President has all options on the table."

Iranian dissident media Iran International reported that, as Iran’s delegates left the Omani embassy, a group of protesters threw tomatoes at their vehicles and shouted “death to terrorists.”

Khamenei slams US attempts to strike nuclear deal

Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei denounced theUS’s attempt to limit Iran’s nuclear potentialin a series of posts on X/Twitter as talks were ongoing, claiming that the nuclear industryis “among the nation’s rights.”

“=Peaceful nuclear industry is not for war==; it is for running the country – for agriculture, for treatment and healthcare, and for everything that depends on energy,” he wrote. “What does it have to do with you Americans?”

He also appealed to the International Atomic Energy Agency, stating that nuclear energy is an “undeniable right” under the organization’s guidelines.

In another post, the ayatollah argued that attempts to limit Iran’s weaponry were “irrational,” saying that“without deterrent weaponry, a country will be crushed by the enemy.”

US President Donald Trump said that he would be involved “indirectly” in the Geneva talksand that he believed Tehran wanted to make a deal.

“I don’t think they want the consequences of not making a deal,” Trump told reporters aboard Air Force One on Monday. “We could have had a deal instead of sending the B-2s in to knock out their nuclear potential. And we had to send the B-2s.”

A previous attempt to revive talks was underway in June last year when Israel launched a bombing campaign against Iran, and was then joined by US B-2 bombers that struck nuclear targets.Tehran has since said it has halted uranium enrichment activity.

A senior Iranian official told Reuters on Tuesday that America’s seriousness on lifting sanctions on Iran and avoiding unrealistic demands are key to ensuring effective talks in Geneva.

The official, who declined to be named, saidTehran was coming to the negotiating table with “genuine and constructive proposals.”

The meeting took place at the residence of the Omani ambassador to the UN amid a heavy security presence. Some cars with Iranian diplomatic license plates were visible outside.

Meanwhile, the US military is preparing for the possibility of weeks of operations against Iran if Trump orders an attack, two US officials told Reuters.

On Monday, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio told a news conference in Budapestthat it was hard to make a deal with Iran, but the US was willing to try.

Iran's IRGC Navy launches maritime drill in Strait of Hormuz

One day before these talks were due to resume, Iran held a military exercise in the Strait of Hormuz – an attempt by Tehran to push back against the US, a person familiar with the matter told the Post.

The exercise was reported by Iran’s semi-official Tasnim News Agency, which is affiliated with the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC).

It focused on the regime’s naval forces and was reportedly carried out under the supervision of the IRGC Commander Maj.-Gen. Mohammad Pakpour.

The exercise aimed to assess the readiness of Iran’s naval operations unitsand review security plans and scenarios for “reciprocal” military action by the IRGC, Tasnim reported.

Situated between the Persian Gulf and the Gulf of Oman, theStrait of Hormuz is a key channel. It is the only sea passage from the Persian Gulf to the open ocean, making it a strategically important choke point. Iranian hardliners have advocated blocking the strait in response to escalating tensions with Washington.

The force was anticipated to offer a “decisive” response to any “anti-security plots in the maritime domain,” a source affiliated with the IRGC told Tasnim.

Iran has made efforts to fortify its nuclear facilities as well, especially those that were damaged during the US airstrikes last June.

Araghchi meets IAEA's Grossi to discuss nuclear talks

As for the United States, its military has moved over 50 fighter jets to the Middle East in the last 24 hours as part of its buildup of air and naval assets near Iran, Axios reported on Tuesday, citing a US official.

A host of F-16, F-22, and F-35 jets were observed heading to the Middle East by independent flight trackers.

Last week, American media outlets reported that the US was sending its largest aircraft carrier, the USS Gerald R. Ford, to bolster its forces in the Middle East ahead of an anticipated clash with Iranian forces.

The USS Gerald R. Ford and its escort ships had previously been deployed in the Caribbean and, according to four anonymous US officials, were informed of their new destination on Thursday.

Already deployed to the area in January is the USS Abraham Lincoln, along with other notable air and naval assets.

(Reminder the US was negotiating with Iran when Bibi came and dropped his lies about Iran. Remember he came a couple of weeks ago uninvited along with his military leaders to make sure Trump doesn’t make a mistake by underestimating Iran and their bombs. It seems like Israel always knows what’s going on with the Trump Administration; are they bugging the US Government?)

Israel seems to be worried about talks with US and Iran. Probably because the truth will come out.

This theory sounds strangebut did Trump send battleships to convince Israel Trump would bomb them, when they were in Geneva making peace?
