Woods, a fierce patriot and vocal supporter of President Trump, blasted the “uniparty traitors” in a fiery post on X, declaring, “I am done with the Republican Party.”

Woods’ decision comes amid growing frustration with Senate Republican leadership, particularly cowardly Senate Majority Leader John Thune (R-SD), who has continuously stalled the crucial SAVE Act, a bill designed to safeguard American elections by requiring proof of citizenship for voter registration.

Without this measure, Woods warns, the floodgates will remain open for election fraud, illegal aliens pouring in, and the permanent destruction of our republic.

Sweden has intercepted a cargo ship believed to be part of Russia’s so-called “shadow fleet” in the Baltic Sea, the country’s public broadcaster SVT reported on Saturday, citing the Swedish Coast Guard.

Moscow maintains that the notion of a Russian-operated “shadow fleet” is unfounded. According to Kremlin officials, the term is used to describe vessels that transport cargo outside the coverage of London-based insurance brokers.

Russia insists that even if such ships carry sanctioned cargo, Western countries have no legal basis to enforce these sanctions on the high seas under the UN Convention on the Law of the Sea.

The Caffa, the vessel in question, was reportedly seized on Friday in cooperation with Swedish police aviation and the National Task Force. Authorities are currently conducting searches and questioning the 11 crew members, 10 of whom hold Russian citizenship.

The federal government has soft-launched an immigration program that will see 33,000 temporary foreign workers become permanent residents in Canada over the next two years, Immigration Minister Lena Diab confirmed.

The program, first announced in November as part of Ottawa’s 2026–2028 Immigration Levels Plan, seeks to “accelerate” a pathway for work permit holders already in Canada to transition to permanent residence in fiscal years 2026 and 2027 to tackle labour shortages in in-demand sectors.

Government officials have not provided updates on the “one-time measure” since its announcement. Diab told the Toronto Star in an interview published March 6 that the measure is one way to reduce the temporary resident population, noting that more than half of the 395,000 people who became permanent residents in 2025 had previously held temporary permits.

“We have launched it already,” the minister said, adding that details on application and approval numbers are not yet available. “But we will in the month of April be able to provide more clarity and more detail on them,” she noted.

Diab’s comment echoed the three-year immigration levels plan, announced alongside Budget 2025 on Nov. 4, which states that reducing temporary resident admissions is part of Ottawa’s goal to “reduce the total number of temporary residents to less than five per cent of Canada’s population by the end of 2027.”

Specifically, the three-year plan pledges to shrink new temporary resident admissions from 673,650 in 2025 to 385,000 in 2026, and 370,000 in 2027 and 2028. Continue…
