During Bill Clinton’s deposition, the Democratic House Members were ready for him to trash Trump and implicate him with Jeffrey Epstein, but they were clearly disappointed when he actually exonerated Trump and only had good things to say about the President.

…Update(0920ET): In a massive though not completely unexpected development, Iraq has shut down 460,000 barrels per day of production at the West Qurna 2 field, Iraqi oil officials told Reuters. Officials warned the country will be forced to cut more than 3 million barrels per day within days if oil tankers cannot move freely and access loading terminals, as confirmed in Bloomberg.
On Tuesday, Iraq reduced output at the Rumaila oil field by 700,000 barrels per day. Rumaila is the second-largest oil field in the world, and storage levels at southern export terminals have reached critical capacity due to disruptions and slowdowns in tanker traffic through the Strait of Hormuz, according to local officials.
Importantly, Iraq also halted crude exports from its semi-autonomous Kurdistan region through the key pipeline to Turkey’s port of Ceyhan, according to sources cited by Bloomberg. Roughly 200,000 barrels per day have been shut in as producers cut output amid escalating regional conflict. Only about 50,000 barrels per day are now being produced for domestic use.

Hours after negotiations collapsed between the Pentagon and rival startup Anthropic on Friday, the San Francisco-based company agreed to supply its AI models for use in classified military operations. The breakdown followed talks with Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth over how the government could deploy advanced AI tools.
OpenAI initially described its agreement as containing "more guardrails than any previous agreement for classified AI deployments, including Anthropic’s." But on Monday, CEO Sam Altman said the company was working with the department to add explicit contractual language barring the intentional use of its systems for domestic surveillance of U.S. persons or nationals.
"The AI system shall not be intentionally used for domestic surveillance of US persons and nationals," Altman said the revised terms would state, adding that intelligence agencies such as the National Security Agency would be excluded from the deal for now.
So - while OpenAI has likely bought some legal cover with these changes, there's always the possibility of unintentional use.

The commission claims the fine, the first to be issued under the DSA, was for alleged transparency and procedural breaches, all of which X denies. But the real reason the company was targeted is clear: X is a free speech platform, and Elon Musk refuses to implement online censorship in the EU and around the world.
This case, which ADF International is proud to support, concretizes the severe threat to free speech posed by the DSA. The EU law, which came into force in 2024, requires “very large online platforms,” like X, Meta, and Google (platforms with more than 45 million users per month), which operate or are accessible in the EU, to remove so-called “illegal content.”
“Illegal content” is defined in line with a plethora of anti-free speech legislation across EU countries, such as in Germany, where it is illegal to insult a politician (Section 188 German Criminal Code). The legislation additionally requires platforms to “mitigate” so-called “systemic risks,” such as “negative effects” on “civic discourse,” “electoral processes,” and “gender-based violence.”
Codes of conduct have also been added to the legislation regarding “disinformation,” “hate speech,” and guidelines on electoral processes and the protection of minors, resulting in 153 pages of additional regulations that were never voted on. Platforms face massive fines of up to 6% of global annual turnover for non-compliance with the DSA and can even be suspended in the EU.
The vague terms used in the legislation and codes of conduct are extremely broad and lack precise legal definitions, meaning they are ideal tools for the commission to censor disfavored views. And the commission’s reach extends far beyond Europe through the DSA. Continue…

Melissa Dore is a now-former primary health-care nurse practitioner in Ontario. The regulatory body overseeing her profession revoked her licence in March 2025, alleging she committed professional misconduct during the COVID-19 pandemic by issuing vaccine exemptions.
“In September of 2021, I was approached by a former primary care patient requesting help to obtain an exemption from taking the COVID-19 vaccine being mandated by his employer as a condition to maintain employment,” she detailed on her website.
The man, who was reluctant to take a COVID vaccine given previous health concerns, approached his family doctor about receiving an exemption — only to be told prolonging the government's pandemic response and “was part of the problem,” asserted Dore.
The former nurse then held an information session via Zoom to raise awareness about the information patients are supposed to be informed of ahead of receiving a jab.
Dore says she then provided those who attended with a letter explaining the information she had taught along with the patient's decision to decline a COVID-19 vaccine.
“These nursing actions resulted in an investigation into my nursing practice, a hearing where I was found to have committed the act of professional misconduct, and the revocation of my registration certificate to practice nursing,” she wrote.

A motion for a “permanent stay of proceedings” was filed by a Canadian legal group to try and stop a $290 million class-action lawsuit filed by disgruntled Ottawa residents against the Freedom Convoy leaders.
The Justice Centre for Constitutional Freedoms (JCCF) said in a press release that its lawyers have filed a motion for a permanent stay of proceedings in the case and hope the suit will be dropped.
“The integrity of the justice system depends on transparency between all parties,” constitutional lawyer James Manson said about the case.
“When one side secretly enters into an agreement with a defendant that requires cooperation against others, and then does not disclose that agreement immediately, as required by law, the basic fairness of the process is fundamentally undermined. Courts cannot permit litigation to proceed on a foundation that has been compromised in this way.” Continue…

A Barrow County jury has found Colin Gray guilty of second-degree murder and multiple other charges connected to the September 2024 shooting at Apalachee High School that left four people dead. The verdict came Tuesday after jurors deliberated for several hours following two weeks of testimony, reports CBS.
Gray was indicted on 29 counts, including second-degree murder, involuntary manslaughter, and cruelty to children. He had pleaded not guilty. He faces up to 30 years in prison for the murder convictions. Sentencing has not yet been scheduled.
The case stems from the actions of his son, Colt Gray, who was 14 at the time of the shooting. Investigators allege the teen carried a semiautomatic assault-style rifle onto a school bus on Sept. 4, 2024, with the barrel protruding from a book bag wrapped in poster board. Authorities say he left a second-period class, retrieved the weapon from a bathroom, and opened fire in a classroom and hallway areas.
Killed were students Mason Schermerhorn, 14, and Christian Angulo, 14, along with teachers Richard Aspinwall, 39, and Cristina Irimie, 53. Another teacher and eight students were injured. Prosecutors said the teen had planned the attack and left behind a notebook outlining steps for the shooting and a diagram of his classroom.
During closing arguments, prosecutors argued that Colin Gray supplied the firearm and ammunition despite signs of his son's deteriorating mental state. They pointed to prior incidents and what they described as a “shrine” to Nikolas Cruz.
“After seeing sign after sign of his son's deteriorating mental state, his violence, his school shooter obsession, the defendant had sufficient warning that his son was a bomb just waiting to go off,” Barrow County Assistant District Attorney Patricia Brooks told jurors. “And instead of disarming him, he gave him the detonator.”
Gray’s prosecution is the third instance nationally of a parent being charged in connection with a mass shooting carried out by their child

Canada is fast approaching its 100,000th death from Medical Assistance in Dying (MAID), a grim milestone that puts it way ahead of every other nation.
Health Canada reported that 76,475 Canadians had died under MAID as of December 31, 2024. New cases were arriving at roughly 45 per day, with 2024 alone recording 16,499 deaths. Even if approvals have steadied in recent months, the government’s own trajectory suggests the 100,000th death could come in early June, weeks before the 10th anniversary of Bill C-14, which first legalized doctor-assisted suicide.
“This spring, we’re about to hit our 100,000th individual,” said Canadian anti-MAID activist Kelsi Sheren on a podcast with British rapper Nzube Udezue, known as Zuby, according to the National Post. Sheren has tracked the milestone closely, warning that the country is approaching a six-figure tally in assisted deaths.
Canada legalized MAID in 2016, years after the Netherlands and Belgium, which began allowing assisted suicide in 2002 and 2003, respectively. Unlike Belgium, Canada does not yet permit assisted suicide for patients suffering solely from mental illness, a step planned for early 2027, but the pace of deaths isnt slowing down.
Even as a later adopter, Canada’s MAID numbers have surged faster than any other jurisdiction. In 2020, assisted deaths jumped 36.8 percent from 5,461 to 7,451, then climbed another 34.8 percent to 9,842 the following year. If trends continue, Canada could surpass the combined totals of every other country with legal euthanasia in a single year.
New Zealand, comparatively, has recorded roughly 1,000 deaths since 2021, Spain 697 in its first three years, and Colombia 692 between 2015 and 2023. In the US, state-level assisted suicide has existed since 1998, with total deaths reaching 5,329 across all states by 2022.
Even in Europe, long-standing euthanasia programs have produced smaller totals. Switzerland tallied 8,738 deaths over 20 years, Belgium 33,647 over 21 years. Only the Netherlands reports a higher share of assisted deaths relative to total mortality—5.8 percent versus 5.1 percent for Canada—but the larger Canadian population means more individual lives lost: 16,499 in 2024 alone, compared with 9,958 in the Netherlands.

The Durham Regional Police Service is warning residents that a high-risk offender serving a life sentence for first-degree murder has been released into the community under a temporary absence permit.
Darren Scott Ray, 65, has been granted an unescorted temporary absence (UTA) and is residing in Oshawa under court-imposed conditions, police said. The release is part of the federal correctional system’s supervised reintegration process.
Ray was convicted in 1986 of the first-degree murder of 14-year-old Darren Pepin, a Scarborough high school student. Continue…

The member-only event, hosted by prominent Calgary drag figure Farah Nuff, was organized by three Calgary ATA branches and celebrated the completion of another round of student report cards.
Word about the event spread across social media after the event, as conservatives criticized these groups of teachers for hosting a "woke" drag show bingo night, noting that they are the individuals charged with educating children.
