Good Morn

So yesterday's Political X22 Report talked about Demoncrats and why the keep talking about Voter ID and the fact that you will have to produce more than an ID. According to Dave, States used a loophole in the 2005 law to only require a Green card and some other docs. Not a social security number.

I can't find that with AI or Google.

But I know for a Fact that States are giving illegals IDs. (Not real ids, according to AI)

So I thought,Whats the Penality if a State is found to give Real IDs to Illegals

Its Your Fault

Read Here:

If a state were to issue REAL IDs without requiring and verifying a Social Security Number (SSN) or a formal denial letter, the primary penalty would be the loss of federal recognition for all IDs issued by that state.

Federal law does not typically "fine" the state government directly; instead, the penalties fall on the state's residents and the legal validity of the licenses they carry.

  1. Decertification of the State

The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has the authority to deem a state "non-compliant." If a state is decertified because it stopped following the SSN verification rules:

Airport Bans: Residents of that state would no longer be able to use their driver's licenses to board domestic flights.

Federal Building Restrictions: The licenses would not be accepted for entry into federal facilities, military bases, or nuclear power plants.

Mandatory Fees: As of February 2026, travelers from non-compliant states who do not have a passport may be forced to pay a $45 fee (and potentially a $90 fee for longer trips) to use the TSA ConfirmID backup verification system.

  1. Loss of Access to Federal Verification Systems

To issue REAL IDs, states must have access to federal databases like the Social Security Administration's verification system and the SAVE system.

If a state intentionally bypasses these checks, the federal government can revoke the state's access to these databases, making it technically impossible for the state to issue any valid REAL IDs.

  1. Individual Penalties for Fraud

If a state official knowingly issues a REAL ID to someone they know is ineligible (e.g., by skipping the SSN check), they could face federal criminal charges under 18 U.S.C. § 1028 for "trafficking in actual authentication features for use in false identification documents".

  1. Corrective Action Plans

Before a total ban, DHS typically places the state under a Corrective Action Plan. The state must then prove it has fixed the "gap" in its verification process to avoid its residents being barred from air travel.

Note on Recent Changes: The REAL ID Modernization Act (2020) allowed states to stop requiring the physical SSN card, but it strictly maintained the requirement that the state must still collect the number and verify it electronically with the Social Security Administration.
