I'm an oldfag and over the years I've become more interested in god (no-shit…)
So…I was recently trying to find the Commandments of Jesus…and like the lords prayer it doesn't seem consistent over time…feels like they may have been modified to suite our evil overlords.
One of the commandments out there that doesn't feel right is"
"You have heard that it was said, 'Eye for eye, and tooth for tooth.’ But I tell you, Do not resist an evil person. If someone strikes you on the right cheek, turn to him the other also," (Matt 5:38-39 NIV).
This doesn't sound like the guy that flipped over tables and whipped…this sounds more like trying to convince us lowly peasants not to rise up against evil…do nothing and let god determine justice.
So…can someone direct me to a list of commandments they feel is accurate?
