● The famous investigative journalist Seymour Hersh (who exposed the My Lai Massacre in Vietnam and the Abu Ghraib prisoner torture scandal in Iraq) said that a special death squad carried out the assassination of former Pakistani Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto on orders from former U.S. Vice President Dick Cheney.
● In an interview with Al-Arab TV, Hersh pointed out that the same unit killed Bhutto because she had stated in an interview with Al Jazeera on November 2, 2007, that she believed Al-Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden was already dead. She also claimed that Omar Saeed Sheikh, an Al-Qaeda operative imprisoned in Pakistan for the murder of American journalist Daniel Pearl, was the one who killed bin Laden.
● On May 12, Hersh told Gulf News that he believes Bhutto was assassinated because the U.S. leadership did not want to announce bin Laden’s death.
