>But SCOTUS is a rock that is in place to assure that this country follows the law without fail and it has to remain 'as intended' apart from even the President's views.

Theoretically, yes. In application, not so much.

Moreover, it is not just the President's views from which the Supreme Court's analysis and conclusions are supposed to be "apart." That is this President's objection. That the influence of others weighted the scales of justice.

And the quoted statement above seems to ignore the fact that there are historical precedents from the Supreme Court that were factually, legally, and/or morally wrong - some of which have been overturned by later Supreme Courts.

And oral argument questions and push back from some of the sitting DEI appointments (including, but not limited to, the vaccine mandate-by-government entities cases - both the questions and one of the written opinions) are so frightening in their unsupported and unsupportable assumptions, lack of legal acuity, assertions and reliance on "facts" and "conclusions" that are not in the record before the Court, absence of self-awareness, open and hostile bias, and shameless departure from the the law - including the Constitutional protections of those forced to take the jab to stay employed and keep their vested retirement) that the "balance of powers" enshrined in the American system of government is threatened - just as corruption and subterfuge in all branches also threatens the stability of the 3-legged stool on which this 250 year experiment has rested and depended.

So no, the Supreme Court is not infallible. It is not beyond corruption or improper influence, blackmail, or otherwise.

And the moment we believe that it is, that is the moment the leak in the dam is at risk of growing beyond the point of repair. Then it's just a matter of time before the entire structure crumbles and the weight of the matter crashing through the neglected breach funishes the job of bringing the structure to the ground. Then the released flow of the no longer contained weight wipes out everything in its path. All because not enough people were willing to address the cracks in the dam and/or couldn't do so in time.

Here, the cracks are those people given the power and priviledge to sit on the Supreme Court who are demonstrably not qualified from a factual and/or legal analysis integrity standpoint. Other factors pollute their "deliberative processes" in their blind rush to get to the desired, pre-determined outcome - rather than the one the facts properly before them, and the applicable law, dictates.
