Those masks are very old, and most likely used in secret initiation ceremonies similar to the ones used by the Odd Fellows and other secret fraternities. Eyes Wide Shut kind of shit. I bet they represent pivotal and powerful figures from the 1920s or 30s, know only to the giver and receiver of the masks.
