Disgraced UK Ambassador Peter Mandelson Arrested Weeks After Resigning Over Epstein

Former UK cabinet minister and Ambassador to the United States, Peter Mandelson, has been arrested just weeks after resigning over revelations that he gave Jeffrey Epstein advance notice of a €500bn bailout to save the Euro.

Peter Mandelson has been arrested on suspicion of misconduct in public office, the Metropolitan Police has saidhttps://t.co/CAU6JMk4vg

As the Guardian notes, emails forwarded to Epstein from the very top of the UK government include:

A confidential UK government document outlining £20bn in asset sales.

Mandelson claiming he was “trying hard” to change government policy on bankers’ bonuses.

An imminent bailout package for the euro the day before it was announced in 2010.

A suggestion that the JPMorgan boss “mildly threaten” the chancellor.

Epstein asked Mandelson to confirm a €500bn bailout – which the then business secretary said would be announced that evening. The following day, Mandelson also appeared to give Epstein an early tipoff about Gordon Brown’s resignation.

The revelations have prompted Prime Minister Keir Starmer to order an investigation by the cabinet secretary and to demand that Mandelson resign from the House of Lords. Brown has separately asked the cabinet secretary, Chris Wormald, to investigate the alleged disclosures.

Epstein Hid Secret Files in Storage Units Across the US, May Include Unseen Evidence of Crimes

The secretly stashed Epstein files.

It’s long been known that late pedophile Jeffrey Epstein kept a trove of files on his ‘friends and clients’, but a new report by British paper The Telegraph reveals that he secretly hid computers, photographs, and other equipment in storage units scattered across the US.

“Financial records and emails […] revealed that the dead pedophile rented at least six storage lockers nationwide, some starting in 2003, and paid for them until 2019.

[…] The units were used to house items from Epstein’s homes, including computers and CDs from his private Caribbean island, Little Saint James.”

“Search warrants — which were part of the tranche of 3 million Epstein-related documents released by the Justice Department — also revealed that US authorities possibly never raided the storage spaces and could contain never-before-seen evidence in the sex trafficking case.”

Epstein had detectives take materials from his homes into the storage facilities before police executed search warrants.

“His staff also discussed transporting some computers and CDs from his private island to the units and wiping them. Some of the material in the units could predate the earliest material in the Epstein files released by the DOJ, according to the publication.”

Judge Says Jack Smith's Final 'Mar-a-Lago Docs' Report On Trump Can Never Be Released

A federal judge on Feb. 23 said that the final report on President Donald Trump compiled by a former special counsel shall not be released.

U.S. District Judge Aileen Cannon, who is based in Florida (and was appointed by President Trump), said in a 15-page decision that she was granting requests from Trump and his co-defendants to keep part two of the report from former special counsel Jack Smith shielded from the public.

Cannon said that Smith wrongly forged ahead with investigating Trump and others for allegedly violating federal law by gathering and retaining sensitive documents even after she ruled his appointment was unconstitutional and threw out the case.

“Rather than seek a stay of the Order, or clarification, Special Counsel Smith and his team chose to circumvent it, for months, by taking the discovery generated in this case and compiling it in a final report for transmission to then-Attorney General Garland, to Congress, and then beyond,” Cannon said.

“The Court need not countenance this brazen stratagem or effectively perpetuate the Special Counsel’s breach of this Court’s own order.”

She added later:

“While it is true that former special counsels have released final reports at the conclusion of their work, it appears they have done so either after electing not to bring charges at all or after adjudications of guilt by plea or trial. The Court strains to find a situation in which a former special counsel has released a report after initiating criminal charges that did not result in a finding of guilt.”

The Department of Justice (DOJ) had appealed Cannon’s ruling, but dropped the appeal after Trump won a second term in office.

Zuckerberg’s “Fix” for Child Safety Could End Anonymous Internet Access for Everyone

Zuckerberg spent five hours defending Instagram's design choices, and walked out having handed legislators and regulators their preferred blueprint for a national digital ID system.

Mark Zuckerberg spent more than five hours on the stand in Los Angeles Superior Court on Wednesday, testifying before a jury for the first time about claims that Meta deliberately designed Instagram to addict children.

The headline from most coverage was the spectacle: an annotated paper trail of internal emails, a 35-foot collage of the plaintiff’s Instagram posts unspooled across the courtroom, a CEO growing visibly agitated under cross-examination.

The more important story is what Wednesday’s proceedings are being used to build.

The trial is framed as a child safety case. What it is actually doing, especially through Zuckerberg’s own testimony, is laying the political and legal groundwork for mandatory identity verification across the internet.

And Zuckerberg, rather than pushing back on that outcome, offered the court his preferred implementation plan.

The “Addiction” Framing and What It Enables

The lawsuit was filed by a plaintiff identified as KGM, now 20 years old, who claims she began using Instagram at age 9 and that the platform’s design addicted her to it, worsening her mental health, contributing to anxiety, body dysmorphia, and suicidal thoughts.

TikTok and Snapchat settled before trial. Meta and Google’s YouTube remain defendants. Over 1,600 related cases are pending nationally. This is a big business. A verdict here could set the template for all of them.

The case rests on a contested scientific premise: that social media is clinically addictive and that this addiction causes measurable harm. That premise drives the legal strategy, the media coverage, and the resulting policy agenda. It deserves scrutiny that most coverage is not giving it.

The science is genuinely disputed, and we went into detail with that in a recent feature if you’re serious about understanding how these claims are created and weaponized.

None of this means the harms alleged are fabricated. It means the word “addiction” is doing heavy rhetorical and legal work, and the policy consequences flowing from that word go far beyond anything a jury in Los Angeles will decide.

“Addiction” is how you get a public health emergency. A public health emergency is how you get emergency powers and make it easier for people to overlook constitutional protections. Emergency powers applied to the internet mean mandatory access controls. And mandatory access controls on the internet mean the end of anonymous and pseudonymous speech.

US Intel Funded Projects Riddled With Chinese Gov’t-Linked Researchers

The U.S. Intelligence Community has awarded more than a dozen sensitive defense grants to researchers affiliated with institutions connected to the Chinese government and its military, according to a report exclusively obtained by the Daily Caller News Foundation.

Since 2017, at least 14 U.S. defense research projects supported by the Intelligence Advanced Research Projects Activity (IARPA) — which is tasked by the Office of the Director of National Intelligence (ODNI) with investing in “high-risk, high-payoff research programs” — have included investigators simultaneously affiliated with Chinese national laboratories, state surveillance entities, military units and nuclear weapons development institutions, according to the report published by Parallax Advanced Research, a nonprofit funded by U.S. federal, state and municipal governments. Participants in at least two of the IARPA projects cited in the report conducted similar research during the same period with Chinese government-tied institutions, raising serious concerns about U.S. defense technology transfer to a hostile foreign power.

“These studies reveal a deliberate effort by China’s intelligence and public security apparatus, alongside military-affiliated entities, to extract lessons, methodologies, and technical knowledge from IARPA-funded programs,” the report warns. “This includes attempts to reverse-engineer research outputs, replicate experimental designs, and adapt [U.S. Intelligence Community] technologies for use in China’s mass surveillance apparatus and strategic military capabilities.”

Researchers with ties to adversarial nations, like China, should be prohibited from collaborating on U.S. intelligence and defense research, the report’s co-author, L.J. Eads, director of research intelligence at Parallax, told the DCNF.

“What I found most concerning was the sheer number of IARPA funded projects that IARPA itself describes as having clear Intelligence Community value that have involved — and in some cases continue to involve — Chinese institutions and companies, including personnel directly tied to the [People’s Liberation Army],” said Eads.

ODNI and IARPA did not respond to multiple requests for comment.

The CLARITY Act: A Gateway to Blockchain Armageddon?

In the rapidly evolving landscape of digital finance, the passage of the CLARITY Act—formally H.R. 3633, which cleared the House in July 2025 and is poised for Senate approval—promises to usher in a new era of structured disclosures and regulatory oversight for digital assets. Billed as a means to migrate America's $500 trillion capital markets onto public blockchains, this legislation could fundamentally transform how we handle securities, stablecoins, and decentralized finance.

Yet, a series of recent regulatory filings and an MIT study paint a far more alarming picture: one where Maximal Extractable Value (MEV) attacks could spark an arms race among powerful institutions, rendering public blockchains computationally infeasible and prohibitively expensive for everyday users. Are banks, armed with vast resources and regulatory influence, positioning themselves to exploit this shift and effectively "rob" the public through hidden manipulations? The evidence demands urgent scrutiny.

Understanding the CLARITY Act and Its Blockchain Ambitions

The CLARITY Act builds on frameworks like the GENIUS Act of 2025, aiming to create clear jurisdictional lines between the SEC and CFTC for digital assets while mandating robust disclosure requirements. Proponents argue it will enable seamless integration of traditional finance with blockchain technology, allowing for real-time settlements via stablecoins and smart contracts. A June 2025 memo from a meeting between the SEC's Crypto Task Force, Auditchain Labs AG, and Rutgers Business School highlights efforts to operationalize investor protections through machine-readable disclosures, emphasizing blockchain's potential for massive cost savings—potentially hundreds of billions across U.S. business lines.

However, coordinated comment letters filed this month to the FDIC, OCC, and SEC reveal deeper concerns. The FDIC filing, for instance, proposes a 136-question questionnaire and a 107-element XBRL taxonomy for stablecoin issuers, focusing on Blockchain Network Participation (BNP)—activities like mining, staking, and governance that underpin public blockchains. Similarly, the SEC Regulation S-K reform comment advocates extending Inline XBRL tagging to non-financial disclosures, including blockchain dependencies and smart contract vulnerabilities. These proposals underscore the Act's intent to foster transparency, but they also expose vulnerabilities: as capital markets flood onto public chains, the incentives for exploitation skyrocket.

Mexico Confirms 25 National Guardsmen Killed in Cartel’s Terror Response to El Mencho’s Death

The Government of Mexico confirmed that 25 Mexican National Guardsmen, one prison guard, and an innocent woman died in a series of terror-style attacks that were a direct response to the killing of Ruben Nemesio “El Mencho” Oseguera Cervantes, the leader of the terrorist organization Cartel Jalisco New Generation.

As Breitbart Texas reported, the much-feared terrorist leader died on Sunday after a high-stakes raid by special forces soldiers from Mexico’s Army. In that raid, cartel gunmen deployed Russian RPGs and used high-powered weapons in an attempt to prevent the capture of their leader. The leader and two others, including his son-in-law, died while being airlifted to a local hospital after being wounded in the confrontation.

Soon after the operation, CJNG forces began carrying out terror-style attacks in at least 18 states throughout Mexico. The attacks included shootings, carjackings, setting up blockades, and setting buildings and convenience stores on fire. Mexican authorities confirmed that, in addition to the 25 National Guardsmen dying in those attacks, 40 cartel gunmen died, as well as a prison guard and an innocent woman. Authorities also made 70 arrests during the day.

By Monday morning, Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum announced that her forces had cleared all blockades and that life could return to normal.

In that same news conference, Mexico’s Secretary of Defense General Ricardo Trevilla Trejo spoke about the operation where Mexican soldiers fought El Mencho’s forces. During the news conference, Trevilla Trejo appeared to choke back tears when he talked about the 25 National Guardsmen who died in the attack. Breitbart Texas has previously reported on a close friendship between Trevilla Trejo and El Mencho, who met when the military official served as a regional head of the Mexican Army in Michoacan.

Also during the news conference, Mexico’s top security official Omar Garcia Harfuch revealed that the operation against El Mencho was based on intelligence that included tracking down the cartel boss’s mistress in an attempt to locate him.

West Bank mosque set on fire, graffitied with ‘revenge’ in apparent settler attack

IDF, police forces investigating arson at Abu Bakr al-Siddiq mosque near Nablus; PA says attack shows depths of ‘barbarity’ of the ‘racist Israeli incitement machine’

A mosque was set on fire and graffitied with threatening messages early Monday in the village of Tell, south of Nablus in the northern West Bank, in an attack apparently carried out by extremist Israeli settlers.

Footage published by Palestinian media showed the charred entrance to the Abu Bakr al-Siddiq mosque, and the Hebrew phrases “revenge” and “price tag” spray-painted in black on the outer wall. Settler extremists often refer to violence against Palestinians as a “price tag” for Palestinian attacks and the dismantling of settler outposts by Israeli forces.

Palestinian news outlet Ma’an said the fire was set at the entrance to the mosque and damaged its gate and exterior before locals put out the flames.

The Israeli military said troops and police officers were dispatched to the village following “a report and documentation that were received retrospectively regarding suspects who set fire to a mosque and sprayed graffiti.”

“The forces began searches for the suspects, and the incident is being investigated by the security authorities,” the Israel Defense Forces said.

The IDF added that it “strongly condemns incidents of this kind, including harm to religious institutions, and will continue to act decisively to maintain security and order in the area.”

In a statement, the Palestinian Authority’s Religious Endowments Ministry said “the attempt to burn down the mosque clearly shows the barbarity that the racist Israeli incitement machine has stooped to against Muslim and Christian sanctuaries in Palestine.”

According to the ministry, settlers attacked 45 mosques in the West Bank last year. The figure could not be immediately verified.

US avoids condemning settler killing of Palestinian-American in armed West Bank attack

Asked for comment on killing of 19-year-old Nasrallah Abu Siam in settler attack, US State Department says it has ‘no higher priority’ than safety of Americans, is ‘monitoring’ situation

US President Donald Trump’s administration said Saturday that it was “aware of” the settler killing of a Palestinian-American in the West Bank a few days earlier, but avoided condemning the attack.

Asked for comment on the Wednesday killing of 19-year-old Nasrallah Abu Siam in an armed settler attack on the central West Bank Palestinian village of Mukhmas, a US State Department spokesperson asserted the administration “has no higher priority than the safety and security of Americans.”

”We are aware of the death of an American citizen in the West Bank,” the spokesperson continued. “We are closely monitoring the situation and stand ready to provide consular assistance.”

“Out of respect for the privacy of the family and loved ones during this difficult time, we have no further comment at this time,” the statement added.

The Trump administration has largely avoided commenting on settler violence in the West Bank. The rare exceptions have come in incidents involving US citizens, though that did not appear to be the case this time.

Homeland Security is trying to force tech companies to hand over data about Trump critics

The Department of Homeland Security has been quietly demanding tech companies turn over user information about critics of the Trump administration, according to reports.

In several cases over recent months, Homeland Security has relied on the use of administrative subpoenas to seek identifiable information about individuals who run anonymous Instagram accounts, which share posts about ICE immigration raids in their local neighborhoods. These subpoenas have also been used to demand information about people who have criticized Trump officials or protested government policies.

Unlike judicial subpoenas, which are approved by a judge after seeing enough evidence of a crime to authorize a search or seizure of someone’s things, administrative subpoenas are issued by federal agencies, allowing investigators to seek a wealth of information about individuals from tech and phone companies without a judge’s oversight.

While administrative subpoenas cannot be used to obtain the contents of a person’s emails, online searches, or location data, they can demand information specifically about the user, such as what time a user logs in, from where, using which devices, and revealing the email addresses and other identifiable information about who opened an online account. But because administrative subpoenas are not backed by a judge’s authority or a court’s order, it’s largely up to a company whether to give over any data to the requesting government agency.

Administrative subpoenas are not new; the use of these self-signed demands by Trump officials to seek identifiable information about people who are critical of the president’s policies has raised alarm.

That same paper was cited for years to claim Roundup was safe.

This wasn’t speculation.

It came out in court. Under oath.

🚨🇬🇧 SHE'S BRITISH ARISTOCRACY, DATED PRINCE ANDREW, AND SAYS THE EPSTEIN STORY IS FAR WORSE THAN ANYONE THINKS…

Lady Victoria Hervey is the daughter of the 6th Marquess of Bristol, born into the upper echelons of British aristocracy.

She moved in the same circles as the royal family, dated Prince Andrew, and spent time around both Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell.

She recently went viral during a live LBC Radio interview when she said not appearing in the Epstein files would be "an insult" because it would mean "you were a bit of a loser."

That clip sparked massive backlash, but it also revealed how normalized Epstein's world was among the elite.

She believes Epstein was an intelligence asset connected to the CIA and Mossad, and that the files are being strategically released to muddy the waters while the real operation stays buried.

On Prince Andrew's arrest, she says the timing was no coincidence.

Photographers were tipped off beforehand and the king went to a fashion show while it happened.

She also doesn't believe Epstein is dead.

And she has a theory about whose body was actually on that table.

Very few people with her access would say this publicly.

She did, and what she’s saying should make everyone very uncomfortable.

Israel has announced it will not contribute financially to the “Board of Peace” (BoP), the neo-colonial international body established by U.S. President Trump to control Gaza’s resources and confine its population.

On Sunday, Ze’ev Elkin, a minister in Israel's Finance Ministry and a member of the Security Cabinet, confirmed that Israel has no intention of funding the initiative. Speaking to state broadcaster Kan Reshet Bet, Elkin stated, "We will not fund the Board of Peace; there is no reason to," arguing that Israel should not be responsible for paying for the reconstruction of a territory from which it was once attacked.

Despite refusing to contribute, Israel has joined the Board of Peace to maintain direct influence over decisions regarding Gaza's future.

Other nations, including the U.S. ($10 billion), UAE ($1.2–2.5 billion), Saudi Arabia ($1 billion), and Qatar ($1 billion) have made significant pledges totaling $17 billion.

OpenAI CEO Sam Altman is at the centre of controversy this week after some eyebrow-raising remarks made during a Q&A session hosted by The Indian Express.

During the 60-minute event, Altman pushed back on the recent criticism about AI’s heavy water and energy consumption.

An OECD study estimated that AI systems will consume between 4.2 and 6.6 billion cubic metres of water per year by 2027 — more than the annual water use of Denmark, or nearly half the entire United Kingdom.

The fundamental energy problem facing AI has generated a lot of scrutiny over the industry in recent months, fuelling dire claims that surging US tech stocks are being outrageously overvalued.

But according to Altman, those facts are being spread to “unfairly” drag AI through the dirt.

He argues that comparisons between the energy used by artificial intelligence and the energy used by humans are difficult, because humans have to spend a long time doing things like eating, drinking and consuming electricity before they can be “productive in the workplace”.

“One of the things that is always unfair in this comparison is people talk about how much energy it takes to train an AI model relative to how much it costs a human to do one inference query,” Altman said.

“It takes like 20 years of life and all of the food you eat during that time before you get smart.”

Altman then goes a step further, suggesting that any fair calculation would also include humanity’s evolutionary past.

“We’ve had the evolution of the hundred billion people,” he said, referring to the long arc of human development that allowed us “not to get eaten by predators and learn how to like figure out science and whatever.”

“If we did that calculation,” he concluded, “probably AI has already caught up on an energy efficiency basis … Measured that way.”
