it occured to me that the reason Wu and Healy are all freaked out is that maybe they've never experienced a noreaster before? They are from out of state!
This storm is NOTHING like the blizzard of 78 where people died in their automobiles on 128.

there was much more snow and my parents generation had that 'we'll get to work no matter what' attitude.
and employers wouldn't send people home early. 128 was jammed and people who lived along the highway had to go out and rescue people who were stuck in their cars, inviting them into their homes. The state was closed for a bunch of days.
EVerything will be open tomorrow. They could have left it open today except healy said 'state of emergency'. We got maybe 15 inches where I am. It's not trivial but it's not 'Snowmagedden'. The only bad part is that they have been not plowing so the streets aren't cleared yet.
and why? Because Healy said 'don't drive' so the town probably figures they can do it tonight.
Snow is going to stop soon. Then all the plows and salters will be out in force.
