Because when enough weak people flee from truth for long enough, they end up building the most utterly insane machines, which consume ceaselessly until nothing is left.
Even many older gamers have fallen into self destructive patterns. That's a good portion of why I care; because of what I've seen these machines do to my friends and peers.
