SEN. TOM COTTON: Good morning, Margaret.

MARGARET BRENNAN: The President of the United States warned the American public that there could be casualties, American casualties. Does that mean the U.S. is putting boots on the ground?

SEN. COTTON: No, Margaret, the president has been clear that what we should expect to see is an extended air and naval campaign that’s designed not only to continue to set back Iran’s nuclear ambitions, but most importantly, to destroy its vast missile arsenal. Many more missiles than the United States and Israel have air defenses combined, as well as the missile launchers and its missile manufacturing capability. Now obviously one risk of that kind of campaign is that an aircraft could be shot down, and the president would never leave a pilot behind. So no doubt we have combat search and rescue assets in the region that are prepared to go in and extract any downed pilot. But barring that kind of unusual circumstance, Margaret, the president has no plan for any kind of large scale ground force inside of Iran.

‘Death to America’: Leftist Columbia University Group Responds to Strikes on Iran’s Islamic Regime

The anti-Israel student group Columbia University Apartheid Divest (CUAD) posted “Death to America” in Persian on Saturdayafter the United States and Israel launched strikes against Iran’s Islamist regime.

The social media post was also in response to the killing of Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, the New YorkPost reported Sunday.

CUAD’s message read “Marg bar Amrika”:

In another social media post on Saturday evening, the group said,“X forced us to delete our ‘marg bar amrika’ tweet in order to gain back access to our account but the sentiment still stands.”

The massive joint-force military operation on Saturday resulted in President Donald Trump confirming that Khamenei was dead, per Breitbart News.

The outlet noted Trump urged the Iranian people to take over the government in Tehran. He later said he knows “exactly who” could replace Khamenei as his removal has shifted the diplomatic landscape, the outlet reported Sunday:

While declining to formally characterize the campaign as a “war,”Trump emphasized that the objective remains eliminating threats to the United States and its allies.

Both Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu have linked the military campaign to broader regime-change dynamics, arguing that the decapitation of Iran’s leadership could create conditions for internal political transformation.

Meanwhile, reports said Iranians around the world and within Iran have been celebrating “Operation Epic Fury” and the fact that Khamenei is dead, according to Breitbart News:

“Operation Epic Fury” preceded an extremely violent period in Iranian history following the eruption of protests nationwide against the regime in December. The protests were triggered in part by the nation’s increasingly desperate economic situation, worsened by its rulers’ insistence on spending the nation’s money on financing terrorism abroad, and by the extreme human rights abuses regularly perpetrated against dissidents. In response, the regime massacred tens of thousands of people – some estimates suggest over 30,000 deadafter just one month of protests. As a result, Iranians not under the yoke of the radical Islamist dictatorships openly celebrated the American and Israeli military operations around the world.

In response to CUAD’s statement regarding America, Columbia University said the group is not affiliated with the school, the Post article noted.

“There is no evidence that anyone currently in control of their account is a current Columbia student, staff, or faculty member. They are illegally using the Columbia name,” the statement read.

Austin Mass Shooter Identified as Senegal National Who Naturalized 10 Years Ago

The suspect in the mass shooting has been identified as Ndiaga Diagne, a naturalized American citizen born in Senegal who became a citizen approximately 10 years ago. In an X post on Sunday, Congressman Chip Roy (R-TX) reported hearing from multiple sources that the suspect wore a shirt saying, “Property of Allah,” and a copy of the Quran was found in his vehicle.

Early on Sunday, the Federal Bureau of Investigation told reporters they had discovered evidence at the scene of the mass shooting at a popular Austin nightclub that indicated a potential nexus to terrorism. During the latest press conference held in Austin early Sunday morning, FBI Acting Special Agent in Charge Alex Doran of the San Antonio FBI office said the evidence was discovered on the shooter and in his vehicle.

Although not confirmed by authorities publicly, Ndiaga Diagne’s identity was confirmed in a report by CBS Austin hours after the shooting. Multiple reports indicate Diagne is a resident of Pflugerville, Texas, and is 53 years old. No additional information regarding the motive has been released by authorities.

A photo reported to be of the shooter is being widely circulated on social media. It shows a man wearing a “Property of Allah” sweatshirt and carrying a rifle. Congressman Roy also posted the photo without comment.

I saw it. Guy drove up from behind and smashed car in left lane, approx 70mph, car crosses 4 lanes to pull over on shoulder, guy continues following him and smashing into him. We drove past at this point but presumably next steps were them getting out and guy initiating the stabbing. It was truly insane and terrifying even when we didn’t yet know about the stabbing.

Judging by the reporting by Fox Digital’s senior editor of investigations,Asra Nomani, Singham’s influence has not waned since Schweizer’s expose.

Fox presented a timeline.

At 2:34 a.m. Eastern, the ANSWER Coalition, a nonprofit project whose leaders describe themselves as Marxist and communist, announced, “EMERGENCY NATIONWIDE DAY OF ACTION TODAY, SAT. FEB 28 — STOP THE WAR WITH IRAN!

Ten minutes later, at 2:44 a.m., Trump posted a video, confirming the attack on Iran, telling the world, “A short time ago, the United States military began major combat operations in Iran”

Eight minutes later, at 2:52 a.m., the People’s Forum, a New York-based activist hub funded by Singham as an “incubator” for socialist groups, issued an “emergency” call to action for a protest in Times Square, the outlet reported.

“EMERGENCY DAY OF ACTION IN NYC TO STOP THE WAR WITH IRAN: TODAY, 2/28 at 2PM in Times Square,” the People’s Forum announced.

A statement by The People’s Forum, Fox Digital reported, mirrored the messaging of a new video released by the Chinese Communist Party before the attacks, portraying the U.S. as an imperial and colonial power.

Meanwhile, the ANSWER Coalition posted on X, “The people of this country reject another war for regime change and empire, a war which only serves the interests of a tiny elite and oil executives. Today, protests will take place in cities around the United States to oppose a new war with Iran.”

According to Fox:

Through the night of the joint U.S.-Israel attack on Iran, field marshals immediately readied printed signage, standardized messaging and coordinated media amplification, according to people familiar with the organizations. They linked anti-Israel activism, anti-ICE protests and anti-Trump messaging into a single narrative framework opposing what organizers call the U.S. “empire.” Their messages aligned with the messages of pro-regime protests in Iran.

By the late morning, the Astroturf protests had spread to 16 hubs for the ANSWER Coalition and the Party for Socialism and Liberation. They included Washington, DC, and major cities in Ohio, North Carolina, Massachusetts, Vermont, California, Rhode Island, Arizona, and Oregon.

Germany Warns of Iranian ‘Sleeper Cell’ Terror Attacks in Europe

The conflict between the United States, Israel and the Islamist regime in Irancould result in terror blowback across Europe, German security officials have warned.

The chairman of the Bundestag’s Parliamentary Control Committee (PKGr), which oversees Germany’s intelligence services, warned on Sunday in comments reported by Die Weltthat “retaliatory measures” by pro-Iranian regime terrorists, including “sleeper cells in Europe”, could not be ruled out.

Meanwhile, a spokesman for the Ministry of Interior said, “The Iranian regime has repeatedly demonstrated in the past that it carries out its terror beyond its own borders.

“The federal and state security authorities… are highly vigilant and will adjust appropriate protective measures as needed.”

Berlin’s Commissioner for Jewish Life and the Fight against Antisemitism, Felix Klein, said that in light of the conflict in Iran, it would be prudent to “assume an increased threat level for Jewish life in Germany.”

Following the outbreak of fighting, several German states said that they would review their security measures to protect Jewish or Israeli institutions, many of which have already been on high alert in the wake of the October 7th terror attacks on Israel by Hamas terrorists in 2023

In neighbouring France, Interior Minister Laurent Nuñez called for regional governments to heighten security measures around Jewish places of worship.

“In light of the current international situation in the Middle East, I reiterate my instructions to remain vigilant and ask you to immediately implement enhanced security measures for Jewish places of worship and religious gatherings,” he said per Le Figaro.

Over the past decade, France and Germany have been primary targets for Islamic terror attacks in Europe. The two countries have also experienced a significant rise in antisemitic incidents following the October 7th attacks on the Jewish states.

Constellis founder Erik Prince told Steve Bannon he was disappointed in the U.S. strikes that killed Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, with Prince saying he did not believe the mission served “America’s interests.”

Prince — who served as a Navy SEAL before founding the private military contractor formerly known as Blackwater in 1997 — vented he did not know what the endgame was for President Donald Trump during his appearance on Bannon’s WarRoom on Sunday. His appearance comes one day after the joint American-Israeli strikes eliminated the ayatollah and dozens of other leaders from Iran’s theocratic regime.

Bannon noted it was a “spectacular” result, but Prince was not as thrilled.

“Look Steve, I’m not happy about the whole thing. I don’t think this was in America’s interests,” Prince said. “It’s going to uncork a significant can of worms and chaos and destruction in Iran now.”

He then asked “Who takes over now?” before bashing Trump.

“I don’t see how this is in keeping with the President’s MAGA commitment. I’m disappointed,” Prince said.

Prince added a moment later it was “wishful thinking” Operation Epic Fury will successfully topple Iran’s regime without putting American troops on the ground. He also lamented that three American troops were killed in the strikes on Saturday.

“These are ultimately solved by ground combat,” Prince added. “I don’t think a regime has ever been changed by air power alone.”

His comments were made around the same time Trump told The Atlantic that what is left of Iran’s leadership wanted to resume talks with the U.S.

“They want to talk, and I have agreed to talk, so I will be talking to them,” Trump said. “They should have done it sooner. They should have given what was very practical and easy to do sooner. They waited too long.”

The president later told NBC News on Sunday, “We have three [deaths], but we expect casualties, but in the end it’s going to be a great deal for the world.”
