Suspect in custody after three women were killed in southern Utah

Search spanned three states before an arrest was made in Colorado.

After a search early Thursday that spanned three states, authorities took a suspect into custody in Colorado after three women were killed Wednesday in Utah’s Wayne County, according to the Utah Department of Public Safety.

The suspect’s vehicle was tracked through southern Utah and into northern Arizona before it was found abandoned in Pagosa Springs, Colorado, a DPS spokesperson said in a news release.

NORAD launched two U.S. Air Force F-35 fighter aircraft, two F-22 fighter aircraft, four KC-135 tankers, one E-3 AWACS, two Canadian CF-18 fighter aircraft, and one CC-150 tanker to positively identify, monitor, and intercept the Russian aircraft in the American and Canadian Air Defense Identification Zones.
