1) Hitler was a mass murderer who killed many innocent people, many of them Jews.

Cosmopolitan Jews in Western Europe escaped the Nazi regime to a much greater degree than the less sophisticated shtetl Jews in Eastern Europe (Poland, Ukraine, etc).
