Hezbollah attacked advancing Israeli occupation forces in Khiyam village and destroyed a Merkava tank.
Additional forces moved in to rescue the ambushed unit but lost two more Merkavas, forcing a full withdrawal.
Israel retaliated by destroying two villages with no strategic value, an act of sheer destruction intended only to raise the cost for civilians. This has long been Israel’s criminal tactic in Lebanon and now in Iran as well.
