ALEXANDRIA, Va. (7News) — A former Metropolitan Police Department officer is accused of sexual assaults in Virginia and Maryland, according to a news release from Takoma Park police.
Timothy Valentin, 30, of Fort Washington, was arrested in Alexandria, Virginia, in December. Investigators said Valentin targeted women he met socially, recorded the encounters, and may have temporarily incapacitated his victims before the attacks.

Police Chief Tarrick McGuire said there is no evidence that Valentin committed any crimes while he was an officer.
Alexandria Commonwealth's Attorney Bryan Porter said the investigation into Valentin began in 2025. Following his arrest, investigators said they got a warrant to search his phone. This revealed evidence of numerous assaults in Virginia and Maryland, according to Porter.
