The Canadian Taxpayers Federation is taking the Bank of Canada to Federal Court in an effort to force the release of records showing how much the central bank pays its top officials.

The challenge follows the Bank of Canada’s refusal to disclose compensation paid to its governors and senior deputy governors between 2012 and 2023, including salaries, bonuses and performance pay, after an access-to-information request sought the records.

“The Bank of Canada is a Crown corporation owned by Canadians and Canadians have a right to know how much money its top officials are taking,” said Devin Drover, the CTF’s general counsel.

“Access-to-information laws exist so Canadians can scrutinize how government institutions operate and the Bank of Canada is violating that fundamental principle by concealing records.”

The bank argued the information is exempt from disclosure under the “personal information” provision of the federal Access to Information Act. Continue…

A Canadian art gallery is warning those who enter to be aware of an LGBT pornographic art piece on display because the Governor General gave it the nation’s top award.

Located in Regina, Saskatchewan, the MacKenzie Art Gallery is hosting Bruce LaBruce’s work, which is about as family unfriendly as possible. It shows large photos showcasing graphic gay sex acts, naked bodies of so-called transgender people, and full-on exposure of genitals.

The work is in the main gallery but contained inside its own small room. Warnings have been placed outside of the exhibit as well.

LaBruce, based in Toronto, is a filmmaker as well as a writer who is known for his scandalous and provocative work.

His exhibit won the 2025 Governor General’s Awards in Visual and Media Arts.

LaBruce has said that he has gone “back and forth” working for “porn companies and then making features in Canada that get, you know, funding from the government.’

His award brought him $25,000 along with a medallion.

Last year, the Regina art gallery hosted a masterclass with LaBruce in partnership with the Regina Public Library, which had a public screening of his pornographic movie.

The City of Regina gives funds to the art gallery. Earlier this year during a budget debate, the city approved funding of $300,000 a year.

Canada’s federal government has continued to fund radical LGBT groups. Indeed, the Liberal government’s 2025-2026 budget includes millions more in taxpayer money for “SLGBTQI+ communities” and “gender” equality as well as abortion funding.

As reported by LifeSiteNews, Carney has a daughter who identifies as “non-binary.” Since 2015, the Liberal government, first under Justin Trudeau and now under Mark Carney, has a history of promoting anti-life and anti-family agendas, including abortion and LGBT-related efforts.

So far, they have not said whether they will accept the ruling that they violated the Charter rights of Canadians.

Because of the “unusually harsh” conditions he endured at Ontario’s Maplehurst Correctional Complex, a drug trafficker can continue to serve the remainder of his sentence from the comfort of home, a three-judge appeal court panel has decided.

In a decision published recently, the Appeal Court of Ontario said the two-year custodial sentence handed down to Mohammad Oryia for possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking and possession of proceeds of crime over $5,000 “was fit when imposed.”

But upon reviewing the fresh evidence from Oryia’s time at the maximum and medium security prison in Milton, the appeal court ruled “continued incarceration would exceed what is necessary to achieve the purposes of sentencing,” wrote Chief Justice Michael Tulloch.

“The objectives of denunciation and deterrence have been substantially met.”

Oryia immigrated to Canada from Afghanistan as an infant in 2001, the youngest of five kids who grew up “taking pride in his Afghan heritage,” but was bullied over his race at school and turned to “negative peers” instead of addressing his resulting anxiety and depression.

“Family members and a close friend attributed his eventual involvement in criminal activity to this period of vulnerability,” the judge wrote. Continue…

Neurosurgeons at the BC Children’s Hospital are giving Tumber Ridge shooting victim Maya Gebala a “brain holiday,” according to her father.

David Gebala reported through a GoFundMe page set up for Maya that the neurosurgical team spoke with him on Monday and said they are “very happy” with the results from a drain in Maya’s head. There has been “virtually no” cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) coming from the drain, he said. A buildup of CSF would indicate brain swelling and pressure that could result in damage to brain tissue.
