The Ukrainian military targeted the Russian city of Bryansk in a “deliberate” attack aimed at civilians, the regional governor, Aleksandr Bogomaz, has said. According to the official, the strike killed six civilians and left 37 injured.

In a post on social media, Bogomaz slammed the attack as an “inhumane terrorist act.”

The Telegram channel Mash claimed earlier that British-made Storm Shadow missiles were used in the attack on Tuesday afternoon. Local media outlets also reported that the Ukrainian military targeted civilian infrastructure in the city, which is now “engulfed in heavy smoke.”

One of the missiles allegedly hit a local microelectronics factory during a shift changeover, as employees were about to leave the premises, according to media reports.

Russian border regions have consistently been targeted by the Ukrainian military throughout the conflict, with Moscow accusing Kiev of “terrorism” and of deliberately attacking civilians and critical infrastructure.

In February, a wave of Ukrainian strikes damaged energy infrastructure in the Belgorod Region, leading to widespread power outages and disruption of heating and water supplies.

Last week, Ukrainian attacks on Russia’s Kherson Region and the city of Sevastopol in Crimea killed two civilians and left 21 others injured. In response to the attacks on border areas and deeper inside Russia, Moscow has targeted Ukraine’s defense-related infrastructure, including energy facilities. Moscow maintains that the strikes never target civilians.

Trump Appoints Erika Kirk to US Air Force Academy Board of Visitors

As a Board of Visitors member, Erika Kirk is one of 16 members responsible for making recommendations to the Secretary of Defense about changes at the Air Force Academy. 89 Arrested In Florida Human Trafficking Operation, Sheriff's Office Says

A sheriff’s office in Florida announced this week that an undercover operation led to 89 human and sex trafficking-related arrests, resulting in more than 1,200 separate felony charges.

The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office, which includes the Tampa metropolitan area, said that the operation was carried out over several weeks and targeted individuals “seeking to sexually exploit children and purchase sex.”

The suspects arrested allegedly believed they were communicating with underage victims and showed up at agreed upon locations but were instead met by undercover sheriff’s detectives, according to a news release issued by the department.

They also located a missing 17-year-old girl who was being exploited, the news release said, adding that she was rescued, and her trafficker, identified by officials as 23-year-old Armani Hopkins, was arrested and charged in connection with the incident. It’s not clear if Hopkins has legal representation.

Authorities gave more details about other suspects who were arrested by sheriff’s officials.

Stephen Fabic, 41, a math teacher at Hillsborough High School, was arrested after he allegedly “offered to pick up a teenager and bring them to his home to engage in sexual activity during conversations with someone he believed to be a minor,” the office stated.

Fabic was arrested and made a court appearance last month. An attorney speaking on his behalf, Daniel Fischetti, was quoted by local media outlet Fox 13 as saying that “it’s unknown what exactly happened the day of, or what the meeting was going to be, so I ask the court to take that into consideration when setting bond.”

The Epoch Times has contacted his attorney for comment.

John Altieri, 69, was also arrested in the operation after he allegedly “arranged for a ride share to pick up a juvenile from their home and bring them to his residence to perform sexual acts,” the office’s news release stated.

“At the time, Altieri was serving home confinement while on probation in Hernando County for two counts of Possession of a Controlled Substance,” it said, in part. It’s not clear if he has an attorney.

The office said that it safely recovered a 2-year-old child after it received a tip that the child was being exploited. A suspect, 42-year-old Peter Torres, was later arrested and the child was recovered in a safe manner, it said. It’s not clear if Torres has a lawyer.

The plan also includes appointing the country’s first “anti-Muslim hostility” czar and encouraging helplines and community groups to record complaints related to alleged abuse.

The Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government said the definition is meant to help identify discrimination against Muslims. Officials claim that the guidance does not restrict lawful speech, and that people retain the right to criticize or ridicule religions, including Islam, but in practice, many people who do so have already found themselves targeted by law enforcement and the courts.Sarah Pochin, a Member of Parliament (MP) for Nigel Farage’s Reform Party, criticized the proposal, saying, “This definition is yet another assault on free speech from a Labour Party that seeks to appease a sectarian voting bloc at the expense of British values. No religion or idea should be beyond scrutiny or ridicule in a free and democratic society.”

Israel has surpassed UK as 7th-largest global arms exporter, report shows

Despite wartime needs and diplomatic backlash, Israeli defense exports grew to 4.4% of the global market in 2021–2025, fueled by air defense system sales

The Swedish research institute SIPRI, the Stockholm International Peace Research Institute, published its global arms export and import report on Monday, comparing the arms exports of various countries in the years 2016–2020 to 2021–2025.

Israel’s share of global arms exports in recent years (2021–2025) has climbed to 4.4%, up from 3.1% in the previous period (2016–2020). Israel is now the world’s seventh-largest arms exporter and, for the first time, has surpassed Great Britain in weapons exports. Britain’s share of global exports currently stands at 3.4%.

Following the US, the largest arms exporters are France (9.8%), Russia (6.8%), Germany (5.7%), China (5.6%), Italy (5.1%) and then Israel (4.4%).

Israel is also the 14th-largest arms importer in the world. Most of its imported weaponry is purchased from the United States (68%), followed by Germany (31%), with a small fraction coming from Italy (1%).

The total volume of the global arms trade rose by 9.2% in 2021–2025 compared to 2016–2020. European nations more than tripled their weapons imports, effectively becoming the world’s largest arms-importing region.

Pentagon says 140 US service members have been wounded since the start of the Iran war

The Pentagon says that about 140 US service members have been wounded in the 10 days of conflict with Iran.

“The vast majority of these injuries have been minor, and 108 service members have already returned to duty,” Pentagon spokesman Sean Parnell says in an emailed statement.

Eight US service members are currently “severely injured,” Parnell adds.

“Unprovoked act of aggression,” Russia claims Israel attacked its cultural center in Lebanon

Russia’s international humanitarian cooperation agency said on Monday that Israel attacked the partner Russian House in the Lebanese city of Nabatieh, calling it an “unprovoked act of aggression,” Anadolu reports.

In a statement on Telegram, head of the agency, Rossotrudnichestvo, Evgeny Primakov said the cultural center was strictly civilian.

“Israeli aviation struck the partner Russian House in the Lebanese city of Nabatieh. The director of the cultural center, Assaad Deia, is alive and safe. These are our good friends, there was no military activity in the cultural center. The strike was not provoked by anything,” he said.

He added that the agency’s official representative office, the Russian Center for Science and Culture in Lebanon’s capital Beirut, is in contact with colleagues from the Nabatieh office.

“We regard its destruction as an act of unprovoked aggression,” Rossotrudnichestvo said in an official statement published on Russian social media platform Max.

It also noted that the Soviet Cultural Center in Syria’s capital Damascus was destroyed by a direct hit from Israeli bombs on Oct. 10, 1973, during the Fourth Arab-Israeli War, killing two people.

Tension escalated across the region on Feb. 28, when the US and Israel launched large-scale attacks on Iran that have so far killed around 1,300 people, including Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei.

Of the 219 deaths recorded in the review, roughly 30 percent occurred on the same day approval was granted.

Nationwide, approximately 16,500 Canadians died through the MAiD program in 2024.

One case involved an elderly woman identified only as Mrs. B.

The woman, who was in her 80s, had previously undergone coronary artery bypass surgery and experienced complications that required additional operations.

After her condition worsened, she initially expressed interest in assisted suicide.

However, according to the report, Mrs. B later reconsidered and told a MAiD practitioner she wished to withdraw her request.

Former Missouri GOP House Speaker Sentenced to Prison for Pandemic Fraud – Sentenced to 21 Months in Prison

A true man of the people, Former Missouri House Speaker John J. Diehl Jr. was sentenced to 21 months in prison on fraud-related charges.

Diehl was Missouri House Speaker in 2015 until he resigned after he was caught sending sexually explicit emails to an intern.

Diehl admitted that on March 30, 2020, he applied for an Economic Injury Disaster Loan on behalf of his law firm, the Diehl Law Group. The loan program was designed to help struggling small businesses during the pandemic.

Less than a month after applying for the loan, an advance of $1,000 was deposited into the Diehl Law Group bank account. He later made a $1,320.15 payment to a country club for personal dues and charges.

Then, on June 9, 2020, the remainder of the loan, $93,900, was put into the law firm’s bank account. Diehl reportedly transferred some of that money into his personal bank accounts. On Sept. 16, 2020, Diehl also transferred $50,039.55 of the EIDL proceeds to the Diehl Law Group’s retirement plan, in which Diehl was the only participant.

Diehl was was sentenced to prison this week.

Diehl admitted to taking $370,000 in small business administration loans. He will also have to pay a $50,000 fine.
